Kcchief's Tigers are our only human game in Sim Week 1. Good luck!
Every human team made a bowl in 2010. Here are the bowl matchups: Last edited by Kodos : 04-25-2009 at 11:27 PM. |

Glad to see we'll able to settle this dispute of who's actually ranked 15th.

Isn't Bigsmooth playing in week 1 as well?

Nope. For some reason, the week listed on the Bowl Matchups screen does not actually correspond to the week when you go to the sim screen. Bigsmooth plays in Week 3 with the rest of us (except for you).

Well...yay for Zach. At least there will be one major trophy coming home to Happy Valley this year. Good luck EF. I have no doubt you'll take home the Nat'l Championship trophy.

Missouri versus EMU in the PapaJohns.com? What a puke fest that will be. From preseason top 10 to this ... what a fall.
Should be able to get my game in tonight so I won't hold up the real players. How embarrassing. |

Congrats to Zach. I tried hard to get McKnight (Archie) the Heisman, but you racked up too many stats to beat. |

We win 34-8. The nation's returner of the year, true freshmen June Jones, returned the opening kick and a missed field goal back for touchdowns.
The interesting story for us was that our top halfback, and one of the nation's top player, got injured on his first carry of the game and was out for the rest of the game. Our backup halfback, got injured on his first carry of the game and was out of the rest of season. Last edited by Galaxy : 04-19-2009 at 01:15 AM. |

Clemson defeats Georgia in the Chik-Fil-A Peach Bowl 49-37.
Let me tell you guys...This game is in the top 3 of my most satisfying wins. I glanced over UGA's roster before I jumped into the game...and (take a look if you have the time, and let me know if you agree) they have the greatest offensive line I have ever seen in this game. Clicking to the next position was just like "Ok, 94, 98, 95, 94, 97...." It was just crazy. So, the game starts, and I choose to kick since I couldn't choose a side to defend, being that we were in a dome. They get the ball, and score on 3 plays. Ok. They're a team with supreme talent. It happens. I get the ball back, and slowly navigate down the field with a balanced attack, as I like to do. On a benign 2nd and 3, I decide to throw a WR screen. The pass bounces off the hands of my decently covered #1 WR, and into the hands of a Georgia DB. I hold them to a field goal, and it's 10-0 Bulldogs. I get the ball back, and after two first downs, I'm at midfield. I do a minimally successful run, and on second down I hit my senior "possession" receiver Xavier Dye on a nice comeback route. He gets hit and fumbles it. Georgia recovers, and I hold them to another field goal. It's 13-0 in the first quarter. No bueno. We traded TD's, and it was 20-7 midway through the second quarter. That's when we took momentum by the balls. Suddenly, our maligned tailback Andre Ellington became unstoppable (rated 86 ovr). Every time I handed it to him, our O-Line created solid holes that would have at least yielded solid gains. Ellington, though, broke tackles like I had never seen. This was a 90+ rated Georgia defense, and he was just acting like a deity in shoulder pads. Ellington wound up with with something like 230 yards rushing, and 100 yards receiving. 5 TD's total. And I'm so not a stat whore. It was just a perfect storm. We wound up scoring 35 straight points. I am so happy about how we finished the season. I can't wait for next season. I just hope DaQuan Bowers sticks around.

Nice win! I'm worried about Tennessee, since they beat Florida earlier this season. And we're no Florida.

Our 62-43 slugfest with Eastern Michigan was we are all expecting from my NCAA online teams -- plenty of offense, virtually zero defense.
Could have and should have been much worse. The second team gave up some cheap scores in the fourth quarter, and my defensive backs are woeful. EMU's QB was throwing these dying quail passes and my DBs whiffed on them. I got greedy and tried to stat-whore at the end of the game and get a TD pass for my backup senior QB, who naturally throws a pick-six on the last play of the game. |

Indiana falls behind 14-7 in the first half before rattling off 24 unanswered points against the Volunteers to win 31-14. Zach Longshore led the way with 134 yards and 2 scores on 27 carries, which he supplemented with 4 catches for 39 yards. We played ball-control all day with our roster rated 20-points less than Tennessee's. We successfully shortened the game, dominated time of possession and came out on top.
Freshmen QB Justin Sampson hit on 13 of 18 attempts for 181 yards and 1 TD. He also ran for the go-ahead TD from 7 yards out with 9 seconds left in the third quarter. Senior WR Scott Allen didn't find the endzone, but did make 4 grabs for 72 yards. He leaves as IU's all time leader in receiving yards (3,002), and TDs (34), which he achieved in just two seasons. He also had 2,002 kick return yards and 6 kick return TDs. He'll be missed next season for sure. Last edited by Kodos : 04-19-2009 at 04:53 PM. |

The Penn State Nittany Lions crushed USF in the Rose Bowl by a score of 68-8. Marcus Castillo threw 5 TD's and set a new NCAAA single season TD mark of 69 (the old record was 67). Heisman winner Zach Wright caught 8 passes for 221 yards and a TD, and we racked up 200+ yards on the ground. We also dominated on defense, and if it weren't for one out of this world run in which 4 tackles were broken behind or at the line of scrimage, the score would have been 68-0. We even had a safety somewhere in there.
Best of luck to everyone else in their games, and once again to EF in his bid to be National Champs.

Bravo...seriously.
I'm considering going with very sub-par team in 2010 just for the sake of not being a Nat'l Championship contender in year 3.

Glad I voted "Yes" on approving the "Ice the Kicker" feature as I nailed a last second "iced" FG to win the Holiday Bowl over Colorado. It was great and really added to the moment. Anyhow, the game shouldn't have been close at all. I was up by a few scores and just kind of started letting Corso call my plays as I was distracted watching youporn on my laptop. They scored the go ahead TD with roughly :38 seconds remaining to get my attention. They then kicked the kickoff out of bounds, which nearly put me in FG range. So, I calmly marched us down the field for the winning kick. Good times. By the way, can't believe the quality of gal that gets down on youporn. Way too hot to be getting nailed for money.....

Thanks for the sentiment. I'll play my game when I get home from work Friday evening. Big props to DTR for taking a lower rated team. I thought about doing it as well, but I'd just miss my Trojans too much since I've completely given up on single play dynasty with this version. |

Honestly, in my mind, it'd be better to take a lower-tier team in NCAA 2010, assuming we do a league again. With only a cycle or two left at this point, there's no real chance to build a bottom-feeder into a contender. Or, if there is, you are just a monster on the sticks, and it doesn't matter what team you have.

If I get 2010, I'm going to start with a low tier team in this league. Of course, if I get 2010, it will be because I'm convinced that CPU play/overall gameplay is significantly better and will be fun to have my Trojans in a single player dynasty.

Power outage for over 2 hours when I got home tonight. That will likely delay my game until tomorrow morning (in part because the power has flickered out 2 more times since coming back on and I don't want to play half of a game to lose it) but I anticipate kicking the crap out of them

Texas gave us some problems in the 1st half as their HB screen and HB in general were very effective. It didn't help when McKnight went down late in the 1st quarter. We went into the half up 21-13, thanks to 2 TD's by Corp who made big plays with his feet as well as his arm.
Interesting glitch in the 2nd half that I noticed because of the commentary. I thought McKnight got into the endzone on a dive over the middle and the commentary talked about him breaking the school record for TD's in a career. However, it put us on the inch line and did not give credit for the TD on the scoreboard. After I had him run it in, I checked and sure enough McKnight got credited with 2 TD's instead of just 1. First time I've seen that before. Anyway, that put us up 28-13 early in the 3rd. Texas responded with another strong drive, but we stopped them in FG range for the 3rd time today. 28-16 after the made FG with a few minutes left in the 3rd. We put together a controlled drive with key plays being a screen to McKnight on 3rd and 7 for a gain of 12 and a 10 yard run by McKnight on 2nd and 9. The drive ended with a 8 TD pass to Havili. 35-16 at the end of 3. After taking a 42-16 lead, on another McKnight TD run, midway through the 4th, we put in our 2nd units. We finish the game with a 42-16 win. McKnight was the MVP with 155 yards on 27 carries and 3 (2 real) TD's. He also had 4 catches for 47 yards. |

Thanks guys. I wish it could have been against a human, other than Sun Tzu who I doubt I would have had a chance against considering how badly he has beaten me in every NOFL matchup.
I'm anxious to see how many players we lose early. I'm sure Corp will be going, but I'm hoping we get lucky and keep a few key juniors. |

As much as I enjoy the bowls, it would be cool (or at least having the option) of the online ability to use a play-off post season format.
