Busy these days Ben? Or are we waiting for some people to export? Either way I'm good, just wondering what's up.

I don't know, was supposed to be a stage run today but no response from Ben. I hope everything is well with him and it's just a matter of him being busy. Bedtime for me anyway.

Ben was away most of the day but I think he had planned on running it later. He likely ended up being gone longer then planned so this stage I'm guessing will just run today. |

I was traveling yesterday. I expected to get online in the evening, but ended up never even unpacking the laptop.. Running WOOF now, FOWL shortly thereafter.

Ben's internet access is intermittent in the C-Bus (Georgia version). He'll run the stage and post results when he is able.

Yeah. I'm at my brother's house until Sunday. His wireless router went out some time between the last time I was here and now, and he never fixed or replaced it since his wife was the only laptop user, and she had previously replaced her laptop with a desktop. Several neighbors have unsecured networks, but the houses are fairly far apart in his neighborhood. The only semi-consistent access for my laptop is on his back deck. The problems out here are:
1. It's only semi-consistent, and therefore frustrating. 2. It gets direct morning sun. Once the sun comes up, I can't really see the sceeen. I would imagine that I could see the screen fine in the evenings, but those have been full of family time, so I haven't tried. Of course, the other issue is my own personal increasing disenchantment with how the league is going. That's no fault of any of you--probably a case of me being spoiled by starting with 32 owners, and being down to no more than 12-15 people exporting now. At any rate, I'm not going to try to run this stage with all those transactions until I have a solid connection. The wife and I *might* go out this afternoon to get online for a bit. If so, I'll run it then. If not, it'll be Sunday afternoon/evening. LAST VENT: I wrote everything up to this point in this post at around 6:45 this morning. I haven't been trying continually for nearly 2 hours, but I have from time to time, and this is the first time I'm able to get it posted. I don't want to fight with DBUpdater trying to run all those transactions in FA2:1 and then trying to upload the file until I have a steady connection. It took me three tries to upload the IHOF file, and I don't know how many to upload the WOOF one. The FOWL dbupdate and file would be the most difficult of all three, and my patience with this connection is exhausted. Sorry.

No problem Ben, it's too bad that you're feeling the blahs about the league but there's no point pushing the issue trying to fight with that bad connection, nobody here is going to get fussed about taking a couple days break. Thanks for all your effort.

Yep, I would say don't even deal with it, and hit it up Monday morning when you're back. We said we were taking weekends off anyways.

For sure Ben, don't worry about it until it's at a convenient time. And i liek the idea QS, as I mentioned in my other post, we should be thinking of ideas to ease the time commitment for Ben. I for one don't use the online info much but maybe it's more for the guys who like to look at it at work? If it saves time then I think that it would be entirely in the spirit of this league to trim it.

I was going to suggest having the website as one of the cool things about this league, if this is going to stop it sucks, but if it makes Ben's life easier, I am for it. I have 2 children under 6, I fully understand commitments.

Or could someone else's computer be used to do the website update? If it's something easy to do that just takes up CPU time maybe someone else could handle that duty.

Thanks for the kind words. FYI, the database and website are virtually no work as long as I have a reliable internet connection. It's three very simple steps:
1. Start DBupdater. 2. Select 0000fowl from a dropdown. 3. Hit the "Update" button. That's it. It ties me up for maybe 15 seconds. It's not CPU-intensive, either. It does use the internet connection for a while, but that's very rarely a problem. I'll get back to simming in the morning.
