No, those fans wearing the Steelers shirts this year, are the same fans who were wearing the Giants shirts last year. I am am saying that these people buying new shirts every year after the Superbowl are the same people who are currently voting in the pole for the Eagles to sign Vick!

BTW. I have not heard anything from Kolb on this signing. Now that Mcnabb, LAurie, Vick, and Dungie have proclaimed Vick to be the Eagles new Backup QB, where does that leave last years "Eagles QB of the future"?

I don't buy this mentality for anyone over 12 years old.

Generally, yes. Bill Simmons covered this pretty well:

"19) "Once you choose a team, you're stuck with that team for the rest of your life ... unless one of the following conditions applies:

Your team moves to another city.

You grew up in a city that didn't field a team for a specific sport - so you picked a random team - and then either a.) your city landed a team, or b.) you moved to a city that fielded a team for that specific sport.

One of your immediate family members either plays professionally or takes a relevant management/coaching/front office position with a pro team.

You follow your favorite college star (and this has to be a once-in-a-generation favorite college star) to the pros and root for his team du jour. Only works if there isn't a pro team in your area.

The owner of your favorite team treated his fans so egregiously over the years that you couldn't take it anymore -- you would rather not follow them at all then support a franchise with this owner in charge."

Hey, you need to add another reason to change teams, Say for example "Your favorite team signs a convicted Dog killer!"

Would this be an acceptable excuse to change teams?

It's pretty rare to become a sports fan later in life. Usually you have to be a woman (for exhibit A, see the pink baseball caps in Fenway Park starting in around 2003). Sports weren't really targeted toward them as kids, but they may pick it up later through boyfriends, etc.

The other exception is foreigners. You might move here from England, and want to follow a baseball team.

Good point. But Vick will only be there so long. I think it's acceptable to put your favorite team "on probation" until he's gone. Maybe you don't pay attention to them, don't spend money on them, and root for another team in the interim. Preferably out-of-conference.

Hey, I never heard a number. Does Vick qualify as a serial killer?

Has he ever said how many Dogs he personally killed with his own hands?

They waited until he signed "just to be sure", then voted for the Eagles.

I'm still here. Not sure exactly what your point is, I'm a Skins fan, and they made perfect sense.

I would say it made no sense at all. As I advocated early in the thread.

Perhaps. More so about the other team, which I think gets unfairly brutalized by everyone. They were left in shambles by the league and people expect them to just suddenly not suck after being raped by MLB.

Better than a Nationals fan.

I still want to know what Kevin Kolb is doing about all this? Did Kolb just drop to 3rd string?

Yes, including such logic as "JC is the established QB, despite the nonsense in the off-season." The nonsense being, of course, at least two separate attempts to find another quarterback and dump JC.

Hunter Philadelphia Eagles Custom Pet Jersey - NFLShop.com

Ordered 2 in case 1 gets dirty. Also ordered a Roethlisberger jersey, in case the dog is feeling amorous.

Heh, good find EM. But I'll be shocked if the Vick name doesn't become unavailable on that item just as the ability to make a Ron Mexico jersey was removed from the NFL shop.

What can he do? Write a letter to Congress or perhaps start cutting himself?

Considering he's hurt...probably watching from the sidelines...if he's even on the practice field at all.

If the Redskins truly thought Mark Sanchez was the answer they would have gotten him. Cutler, perhaps not. Cutler was an established commodity that may ahve been worth dumping JC. Vick, as someone who has not played professionally for two years, and was not a guaranteed win before that, woudl have been a huge risk to unseat JC.
