well let's see...i arrive in town tomorrow...round 1pm

I for sure have dinner with the client on Sunday night + Monday night. But he's not the type to be out crazy-late I don't think.

I'm staying right in the midst of downtown, on West Adams.

Well, keep us posted. If I take the train from work (which I do half the time anyway), I get downtown around 5:15.

Definitely not. You can probably head over to Millenium Park and see "The Bean" if you were jonesing for something to do with a lot of people around. But yeah, the loop is dead outside business hours.

pretty much dead...yeah. Nah...I have dinner with the client and then after that I'll probably just take it easy. Feeling poor ($$-wise) tends to do that to ya. But hey...I'm around, if you want to grab a drink at some point or something.

I'm buying a house in the not too distant future (need to be closed by April).

Seeing as that's also when the weather gets nice again, maybe I'll do a Chicago FOFC Housewarming/BBQ.

I'll be traveling out to Chicago the weekend of April 10-13, gonna be pretty busy for most of it but I'm sure I could figure a way to meet someone for drinks or something if they're around.

BUMP!

Two trips Sept/Oct

9/29: Staying in Oak Brook
9/30: Staying in downtown CHI

October 28-29: Staying at the airport Westin for a conference
Prolly will stay the night of the 29th either at the Westin or downtown and spend the day in CHI on 30th if that makes it easier for anyone to meet up...

Thoughts?

Oakbrook's way way easier for me to get to, if you wanna try and swing something. No way I can get into the city on a weekday.

Pity you're not gonna be in town for just a smidge longer. My 30th is this coming weekend.

This week isn't very good for me, but I'm up for October 29th. My exam ends at 4:45, downtown, but I can get to the airport area with no problem, as long as it's close to the el.

what are you up to on the 30th Pass? my conference ends at like 5:30 or 6pm on the 29, so rather than fly home that night and get in all late and shit I'm seriously thinking of just taking the 30th and coming into the city - maybe even doing one of those silly bus-tours or something (believe it or not i never have...i have only a working-knowledge of the city). we could meet up then if that made more sense...

October 30? I got nothing. Well, except work. But I'm free after 5 or so.

Either way. Like I said, I can get out by the airport, too, if that works for anyone else.

I thought all the FOFC meetings were in Buffalo. How did Chicago get involved?

So I'm here in lovely ole Chicago.

Tonight I've got some conference-related dinner that goes till 9 and will probably just come back to the room and crash after.

Tomorrow night the conference wraps up before dinnertime.

I'm at the Westin O'Hare right now for the conference, so we could do stuff out here if that works for folks.

Alternatively I have reservations at the Hotel Sax (Priceline - $69) tomorrow night in the city, so I can head in there at whatever point and we could do a city-meetup. I'll be doing some sort of sightseeing on Friday in the city between like 8-2...not sure what exactly yet.

If it works out for anybody...I have sort of not mentioned it for the last month. If it doesn't work out that's cool...I'll just be chillin with my laptop getting myself ready for my marathon-weekend of FM-gaming.

Sadly, tomorrow night is the night my folks come into town, so I'll be busy with that, but hopefully other Chicago-based FOFCers will be able to get together.
