FOOL 2058 Offseason thread

I have uploaded an OOTPX version of FOOL's file. Feel free to download it and extract it to a folder in your OOTPX/saved_games directory and take a look.

Some of your pitchers may import differently than you would expect

http://www.fool-x.net/fool/FOOL-ootpx.zip

This file is just to take a sneak peak with. Don't export or anything using this file or you'll mess yourself up. A different file will be released when we do the actual upgrade

Oh, sorry. Just a bit anxious. The future of my lineup hangs on whether I can resign a couple of people.

We opened up the wallet this offseason. We believe with Winter, Leon, Wood and Valencia we have an infield that GM's would die to have especially considering their age!

I noticed. Very impressive spending. We'll see how it works out.

I lost out to you on Winter, but I got Fisher so I am pretty excited about that.

I just hope Holmes will hold up for another couple seasons.

The Halifax Winter Wolves are ready to go. A new city, new mascot, new stadium, and now a new OF and 1b to supplement their young studs. Really hoping our pitching can get passed the previous 2 years and perform!

Am I missing something? In March I see several teams purchasing the minor league contracts of about 20-25 players. Can someone clue me in as to why? Is there some secret loophole around a finanical rule or a super power boost or something happening? Players develop in the minor leagues too, so are people thinking that they have to boost people to major leagues to get any development?

I can see some reasons. A lack of organizational depth for one, for instance. They may look like trash, but they fit in the park or in the system of a particular owner's plan, or the owner thinks they could develop into a cheap holdover if cap crunches hit. And I know some here go by the theory that a more full minor league helps the actual talent develop better than playing around ghost players.
