we really need to mine those 2-3 year old offseason threads and cherry-pick comments john stewart style.

Come on, the guy's name is BishopMVP -- he's already colossally chosen the wrong QB as it is, you think this one is going to faze him?

But in fairness to him, he also said a good alternative to Welker would be USC's Steve Smith. Nice call.

Some interesting stats:
Ginn's first two years: 1210 yards
Anothy Gonzalez: 1240
Welker: 1121 (ignores his 2004 season, 14 gp, 0 receptions.)

I don't think that was the reaction in New England. Certainly didn't think it was a steal, but I didn't hear much dissent, if any. He had torn up the Pats a couple times and shown some balls.

I had no idea who the fuck Ted Ginn, Sr was until like a week or so ago.
Juniors with non well known fathers should never be able to use the moniker. And just cause the dude I guess coaches a big high school in Ohio doesn't really make him that famous. I thought he was a pro football player, or some other kind of celeb athlete.

And while we're at it, and I'm ranting on annoying things, Mike Sims-Walker, Maurice Jones-Drew, etc etc....all you fucks pick one last name and stick with it. (except DD, he can do what he wants)

How did I get dragged into this

(That was pretty bad, although I think at the time the rumors were a #1 for Moss. I know I was a huge supporter of getting him for a #4.)

Ginn still sucks horribly as a receiver. Still not worth the pick.
Up until now, he's been very average as a returner. Not the type of returner we expected from The Family (jk, yeah we expected it!).

No worries. I just know I've got so many predictions and statements here I'm screwed if someone wanted to cherrypick Daily Show style.

Brian Hartline had an even worse one just before. Maybe drafting Ohio St. WR's not the right choice for you.

The irony of him being traded to Bad-example's (presumed) team is not lost on me.

But he still comes from a good family, and is an elite kick returner who has rarely done much returning kicks.

I'm only disappointed that we couldn't trade him within the division.

The Dolphins got the same value for Ginn that the Steelers got for Santonio Holmes.

Heh. My only connection to Ted Ginn was the signature suggestion I posted a few months ago, which Rizon boldly took and ran with. If I hated the fellow myself, those big red letters would have been in *my* sig.

Hell as long as he can field a punt and return a kick to the 30 yard line. I will be ecstatic as that alone will outshine any of the Niners returners from the past few years.

As a receiver, I could care less if he only catches 20 balls as I would rather see touches go to Davis, Crabtree, Gore, Morgan, and a few others before he sees action.

RT @Adam_Schefter: RT @MattMaiocco: In '07, 49ers were THRILLED when Dolphins took Ginn at No. 9 (SF took Willis at 11.) Now they're giving up No. 145 for him.
