I thought the first few minutes was a little weak. But, yeah, wow- I did not expect that and it was awesome

Also, Parker and Stone had a surprisingly deft touch when dealing with Muhammad. If there's anything they like more than screwing with any group of people, it's screwing with their viewers and they did that in spades.

Sure, the two-parter was pure fan service but what glorious fan service it was.

Wow, it turns out that extra "bleeps" were added by Comedy Central after the episode was delivered to them. So there actually was something that Kyle, Santa and Jesus learned at the end.

I thought that may be the case during the episode, then with the "lesson learned" I figured it had to be set up. Still not 100% sure what the story is. They may just be drumming up publicity and doing it well.

In any case, yes. Awesome episode, one of the better ones in awhile. I did not see the head ginger coming. That was great and the scene was perfect.

Bah, and because of this they haven't put the episode online yet like they usually do. According to the blurb on the South Park Studios website Comedy Central hasn't given them permission to stream the original version of the episode.

It still comes up for me. It has a repeating background of a cartoon mullah with a fuse coming out of his head, and a pic in the middle of an elderly muslim man passionately kissing a young boy. The page title is "Boom!"

I think what is missing would have been something like the following:

“We have to warn Revolutionmuslim.com that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like lamerz for posting this silliness on teh interwebs. This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them.”

Good episode, especially after Cartman was captured by the gingers.

Nice job by whoever hacked that one website, that's very funny.

I'm disappointed in Comedy Central for the extra censorship, when I watched it I didn't know if the ending was meant to be like that or not. Now I want to know what I missed.

Matt and Trey's statement:

http://www.southparkstudios.com/news/3878/

Quote:
A Statement from Matt and Trey

In the 14 years we've been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn't stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn't some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle's customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn't mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We'll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we'll see what happens to it.

I dunno, I thought the episode was kind of lame.

Not as good, in my opinion, as others this season, but better than most episodes from recent seasons (I have been the in the minority that didn't like the Imaginationland eps, etc).

Yeah same here, it was nice to see almost all the characters that appeared in the 199 previous episodes (Towely was missed though) but that's about it.

It was an incoherent babbling mess of an episode but that was because it was pure fanservice.

Viacom is royally wimping out. They've now removed the Super Best Friends episode from the website.

I rewatched it yesterday.... they really are folding on this one.

I wonder if Matt & Trey will find a way to sneak muhammad into the cartoons (he was in the opening credits a few seasons ago with the original issue popped up)

Which is really lame since, frankly, I think public opinion is actually on the South Park side, 201 was pretty tame, and with the revolutionmuslim site being hacked, most of this was blunted

Was the revolutionmuslim site hacked? It was revolutionislam that was "hacked", and as far as I can tell they are distinct entities.

Ah, apparently they have been redirecting traffic from revolutionmuslim to revolutionislam.

Quote:
Now Younus Abdullah Mohammed, of Revolution Muslim, has confirmed to us that hackers redirected the group's website to revolutionislam.com, a site that hosts the image above — a cartoon depiction of the Prophet, originally published by Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten in 2005.

"But it was pointless," said Muhammad. "Our website is down with the amount of traffic since yesterday anyway. If these hackers want to show their support for the filth and trash that is America then that is fine by us. We already know the outcome as Muslims."
That outcome? "Islam will take over the world."

And that concludes the first half of the 14th season. They've really brought their A game this season. I was laughing almost consistently throughout that episode!

They sure can be absolutely brutal with satire when they put their minds to it. Nice start to the second half of the season.

Good ep. It was worth it just for the 2 1/2 Men joke. Just based on the jokes they highlight on the syndication commercials, I don't know how anyone can watch that show - unless they are filming their own MST3K episodes or something.
