FOOL-X Poll: Add Rookie League?
Based on previous conversation, we've now had a few seasons to see how the draft pick signings is working out for us. This poll does not include all possible options, but it does include the ones that seemed the most popular.
The leading choice appeared to be adding a seperate Rookie league to help players develop, so we'll start with a few simple choices here. |

Basically the way this works is if there are more votes for getting rid of draft pick signings than the other three options, we'll toss them completely. It did not sound like that was the majority opinion, but I wanted to make sure it was at least an option.
For option #1 (keep everything as it is now) and option #3 (Add rookie league), it needs at least 50% of all votes to pass. Option #4 is otherwise the fallback vote. |

I prefer option 2, but I can live with option 3.

Alan, what would adding a "rookie league" entail exactly?

I think this could possibly help our control development issues as well.

I voted #3. I guess I should have voted #1 to be contrarian.
Incidentally, while I believe our intent with a rookie league is to keep draftees down there no more than two seasons (IIRC, I know we were just discussing hypotheticals in theother thread), I think overall it's of benefit to add a fourth minor league level. The 17-18 years olds still generally come in too undeveloped to do much good in Single A, and I have always suspected that having to compete in a league that is beyond their ability slow the development of such prospects considerably. Given that, I thnik adding a rookie level is a good thing to do, even if we had no issues with draft picking signings.

Basically it is a league that the draft picks can get dumped into. By leaving it clear, managers don't need to ask for players to be put in certain positions, so less work for me. If people have draft picks that they want put in the majors or AAA still, thats fine, I'll still do that. But I won't have to spend 30-45 minutes on the weekly season sim putting every single draft pick as the CF on the A-ball team and what not. |

I voted keep as is knowing I'm one that doesn't request minute adjustments to my Single A lineup. Knowing others are sending such requests, I vote for Rookie Ball to make things easier for you.
