Madden 11 or NHL 11
Due to time constraints I will only pick up one. (and at that I won't have a lot of time to play it)
I have a PS3. I have only really 'gamed' on my PC (use the PS3 for blu-ray player), and haven't played an 'action' sports game for 5 or so years. The Ultimate team concept intrigues me. I am leaning towards NHL as, from my understanding, they didn't do much on the management sim side of things with Madden this year. I figure I will get NHL this year and if I have the time to play it, or I really enjoy it, I will get Madden next year. Also, as a Canadian I enjoy Hockey and Football equally (NFL only, no CFL for me). Thoughts? Last edited by Nogram : 09-10-2010 at 12:21 PM. |

I think the fact you enjoy NHL + NFL equally means that you have it right - get NHL this year and NFL next year if you want, once they've done more on franchise mode.

Yeah, this seems like a no-brainer. Madden 11 has gotten very underwhelming responses this year. Seems like people are really enjoying NHL 11.

IMO it depends on how you want to play. If you like to play season after season, I'd suggest Madden, since you can get through seasons quicker then you could ever get through in NHL if you play every game. But that's just me...

This. People seem to be underwhelmed by the "dumbing down" of Madden this year as well as a general lack of progress on the franchise mode. NHL is getting better review and seems like a more polished game overall, at least this year.

Thanks guys, looks like it will be NHL.
To DanGarion, you are correct in your comment, normally I like playing through whole seasons, however given the lack of time I can commit to this, it is unlikely I will get through a number of seasons in either game. If I put more than 2 hours a week into this I will be shocked. |
