Hm... I'll definately give Tennessee their due today. At least they have a pretty good non-conference schedule. But I love how the media can play on people.
K-State and their weak schedule? Sure, but... Tough schedule for Michigan State with Western Michigan, Rutgers, and that great loss to La Tech last week. Then again, Michigan State isn't expected to be going for a national title... Florida State would get some credit from me except they hide behind a BCS conference that plays like the Mountain West. At least Michigan had some balls and scheduled Dame (as they did every year) and Oregon, tho the Ducks weren't expected to do be that good this year. And my favorite game of the week. Two teams that made the top 10 on hype alone. LSU v Georgia. Their schedules up to this point: La-Monroe, at a bad 'zona team, Western Illinois, at Clemson, Middle Tennessee State, and South Carolina. Real tough there, guys- 4 directional schools and two bad teams in decent conferences. Neither of these teams deserve a top 10 ranking until they beat someone other than each other. SI

Come on, the good teams prove they are good by playing other good teams. If you want to play connect the schedules like that then lots of teams would be left out of the top spots. They both have lots of talent, they both have good coaching, and today one of those two teams beat the other. Oh by the way these are the last 2 SEC championship teams we are talking about. The winner will be ranked in the top 6, and that team damn well should. At this point in the year there is NO team thats really earned a top 10 spot, thats only earned with consistency, and even if you beat 3 great teams early in the season that doesn't mean you will have season wide consistency. Oh and LSU's schedule was supposed to include Marshall, Ball State, and a good Arizona team, but the first two broke their contracts and Arizona started to tank it last year after they were scheduled. If you want to punish a good team because of things out of their control like that thats fine, but luckily I don't think poll voters will agree with ya. |

Yeah. I mean, Florida is in the big, bad SE Conference and has a 2-2 record, with solid victories over Florida A&M and Easy Bake Oven University. It's not like FSU could have known 15 years later that the ACC would still be in this kind of shape.
