Sorry for the heart flutter. I just remember this was the thread that someone brought up Mexican Coca Cola.

Thank god.

If another person bumped this thread without news of throwback coming back it was going to get ugly.

Will have to find that.

I think they are leaving a lot of money on the table by not bringing more sugar based sodas out. I'd go at least 50 cents more per 2 liter for the good stuff.

They did last time. I wish they would break out the Pepsi Spice again. And maybe the grape Mt Dew.

Coming Soon: Dr Pepper Heritage / Retro "with sugar" » Pepsi Throwback-like drink from Dr Pepper » BevReview.com

I found a 20oz bottle at a place down the road. It wasn't too bad, but I like the Mt Dew Throwback better.

Doesn't bragging about the use of real sugar make their existing product line look bad? Why would you encourage people to realize that they aren't getting real sugar in their normal Pepsi? This would be like McDonalds creating a 'throwback milkshakes - made with real milk!'. And then everyone is like "what the hell is in the stuff I'm drinking the rest of the time??".

Not at all since "sugar is bad" has been drummed into virtually every brain in the country. Never mind the relatives pros & cons of what they use normally vs what they use in the throwbacks, you aren't going to overcome that amount of brainwashing without an equally fervent campaign in the opposite direction. That makes the risk to Pepsi virtually nothing.

Give it a few years, though, for the "High Fructose Corn Syrup is bad" lobby to really get into full force.

So, uh, anything useful like a store locator link? I saw it all of once in the previous iteration and it was when I was out of town and didn't really want to pay $5 for a 12-pack I wasn't even going to drink a third of.

I would figure it would be at Target like it was previously.

Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback should be readily available now because Pepsi announced back in October that they are now regular products and no longer limited time offerings, per a report on The Consumerist.

Pepsi Throwback disappeared here around October. Mountain Dew Throwback has been available here for probably close to a year though.

Indeed. And it makes sense, with all these other "sugar" sodas on the market now. I don't know if they're new, or if the big chain stores are just starting to carry them, but my local supermarkets all have 10 or so brands of upscaleish soda, which I don't remember seeing there even 5 years ago.

I love me some Pepsi Throwback. Usually the local Meijer* has some in stock

*For those that don't have it, Meijer is kind of like Super Walmart or Super Target.

I like Throwback Pepsi, but Throwback MD tastes more like I remember the pop tasting back when I was in high school. So, when I buy throwback, it's MD. I don't like current MD.
