Rebels Hernández Dominates Bruins
Wednesday, September 23rd, 2116: Jorge Hernández spun his magic in a 6-0 shutout victory, allowing 1 hit while totaling no walks and 4 strikeouts.

The Chico pitcher put quite a spell on Los Angeles in a strong performance.

"I had a lot of good things working in this one," Hernández said. "I worked both sides of the plate. I was rarely behind in the count."

Hernández has started 30 times this year, pitched 181 innings, fanned 106 batters and walked 37. His current record is 11 wins and 13 losses with a 5.87 ERA.

Phillips Torches Winemakers for 6 Hits
Friday, September 25th, 2116: It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Larry Phillips. It was a very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Phillips went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Napa Valley pitching.

When the dust settled on the diamond at Ballpark of Napa Valley, he had a career 6-6 day and something he will long remember. And the Halifax Winter Wolves had a 5-4 victory over the Winemakers.

"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview.

L. Phillips singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 10th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.

To date, Phillips has collected 144 hits for a .246 average. He has posted 12 home runs, scored 97 runs and driven in 55 runs.

Two days left in the regular season...

Halifax has clinched a playoff spot and homefield advantage in the CLCS
Hartford has clinched homefield advantage in the RLCS
Toronto has clinched a playoff spot

Napa Valley 91-71
Tokyo 90-70

Napa Valley has finished their season, but Tokyo has two games remaining @ Apex.

If Tokyo wins both of their games, they clinch a playoff spot
If Tokyo loses both of their games, Napa Valley clinches a playoff spot.
If Tokyo wins one, and loses one , it ends with a tie between Tokyo and Napa Valley

Yay! It wasn't nice of Halifax to creep up on us like that, but I appreciate Tokyo backing off in the last minute there for us.

Congrats to Johnny, Hyde, and crimsonfox!

Apparently we're really bad at making predictions because I would have said that my team is really not that great this year and we were in first for a long time there during this season!

Very disappointing of course. I guess I should be happy I'll finally have a high draft pick, but this Hooligans team is much, much better than it showed here, and if I hadn't fallen asleep prematurely, I am sure I would have put the roster together in a way that would have been much more competitive. But, hey, that's all on me.

Congrats to the playoff teams and good luck tomorrow.

Crap....horrible Sept/Oct to fall out of the playoff race right at the end after hanging on to 2nd the whole season.

Is it really the 14th? If it is (2 days after my last game) my pitchers are still exhausted. Unless the game doesn't that resolve that yet. But two days of rest did nothing? Ah well. Congrats Teach.

Depending on when your last game was, it is very likely you might still have exhausted pitchers.

There should be one day between now and the first playoff game so you can plan accordingly for pitcher fatigue there.

Hmmm. okay. The game says the 14th. My top two pitchers are at 40 and 9. And the 9 pitcher pitched on the 12th. Maybe fatigue comes off differently than I thought. I always thought pitchers healed up 30 per day they don't pitch.

I may be wrong. So if the playoffs aren't til "tomorrow", how many points should come back? Or is this number a big variable.

Yes, today is the 14th. The off day between regular season and playoffs. So there is one day before the first playoff game. (Playoffs start on the 15th).

Your top two pitchers pitched on the 11th and 12th. So for the first playoff game, your first pitcher would have pitched "4 days ago" and your second pitcher "3 days ago".

So if you start your #1 pitcher in game 1, it would be the same as running a 3 man pitching rotation during the regular season (fairly quick turn around). So you might want to pick a different game 1 starter and then bring out your #1 for game 2.
