Great Day for Carreto, Hits for Cycle
Saturday, September 9th, 2062: 4 hits is a great day for any player, but when they come in four different denominations, that's a cycle -- a rarity by baseball's standards. Jermão Carreto had a single, double, triple and home run for the London Bishops and led them to a 10-4 decision over Havana at The Cathedral with 2 runs scored and 5 runs batted in.

Jermão Carreto hit a three-run triple in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Javier Ortega in the 6th and singled in the 7th.

Presently Carreto is batting .292 with 61 hits and 5 home runs. He has knocked in 30 runs and scored 31 times.

Fajardo Makes 300 HR Mark
Tuesday, September 26th, 2062: It was an historic day in the life of António Fajardo. The 33-year-old Waikiki left fielder recorded the 300th homer of his career in the Beach Boys 6-4 triumph over the Cleveland Naps.

In the clubhouse after the game, Fajardo told BNN, "I was just looking for a ball to drive... and I got one."

His all-time numbers show Fajardo has compiled a .274 batting average and collected 2100 hits, 300 home runs and 1136 RBIs.

Hillin Joins Kings of Clout with #300
Thursday, September 28th, 2062: The Plantana Pirates had something to celebrate today even though they dropped a 4-2 decision to Oshawa. The reason -- the splendid slugger Tim Hillin hit his 300th career homer in today's contest at Pirates Park.

"I'm fortunate to be here," Hillin told the media after the game. "The Pirates have a classy organization and some great fans. Homer #300 was for them."

In his 1857-game career Hillin is hitting .280 with 1834 hits, 357 doubles, 57 triples and 300 home runs. He has scored 1198 runs and driven in 1175.

Some end of season updates...

Hector Palmeiro, despite being the backup DH in Cleveland's depth charts did not see a single at bat all season.

Allen Hunt on the other hand has an outstanding season despite being 42 years old. He hit .312 with 51 Doubles, 44 HR and 148 RBI.

He had 200 hits for the 8th straight season, and if he sticks around to do it again next year, that would be enough to put him second all time in total hits over a career.

He has 674 total home runs for his career and only needs 29 next season to pass Teng for second place all time in Home Runs as well.

I wonder what the oldest age MVP award was. If I remember I'll look it up later.

I don't remember any super old ones in this league off the top of my head. I do know in the other FOOL league, we had a pitcher of the year winner who was 43

I'll trust you on this one I think. On thinking how to look it up I figured its to much math for my little brain. My brain processes baseball and serial killer knowledge. Don't ask about serial killer knowledge its just something I study. I love figuring out their way of justify the actions.

I think there is a statslab stat of the day somewhere that tells you the oldest award winners. Let me try to dig it up in my spare time

........how the heck we played .500 ball is amazing to me.

I didnt think wed play that good. My starters werent that good so Im not sure how we did that. Ive had better teams play much worse than this squad. Im surprised. It must be some of the batter I have.

Congrats and good luck playoff teams. Our hope in New York is that ace Cordoza's stuff ratings can survive one more playoff run.

Thanks Alan.
