OT- Viewtiful Joe
Anyone plan on picking this up? I played around with the demo a bit and it was pretty awesome. Comes out tomorrow I believe.

I almost bought a Gam,ecube just to play this game. It's still too difficult to import Amreican games to Japan, though.

It is. I was talking about other games. Viewtiful Joe came out a while ago here. It's even in English. But the rest of the games are in Japanese.
I can understand a fair amount of Japanese when I hear it. But I can't read Kanji (Chinese Characters). |

Wow- IGN loved it, but that's not surprising. What is: Gamespot loved it. They gave it a 9.2 and they rarely give high marks to anything that's not a shooter or sports game (genres that are already super polished so all you have to do is copy what came before you).

EGM gave it good scores as well. Looks like I'm going to have to get this game.

Just letting those of you that are interested know that I have bought this game 2 days ago, and it is simply awesome. I'm playing in Adult mode (there is also a Kids mode, and more unlockable difficulties), and it is as tough as nails.
I find myself having to do certain parts over and over again since they are so hard to get completed. The fighting is really cool, and you can even buy powerups with the points you get... such a cool game. I'd recommend at LEAST renting this if you own a Cube. |

I went out today intending to buy Final Fantasy Tactics, which is available locally for $14.99.
I saw this game on the shelf (only two copies left at the store I went to), broke down and came home with Viewtiful Joe instead of FFT. So far, I don't regret the purchase. I'm havin' a blast. Anybody else remember, though, an old Genesis platformer by the name of Kid Chameleon? Obviously there's some pretty big differences between the two games, but for those of you that remember Chameleon, does Joe remind you at all of that? It sure does to me. |

im getting my butt handed to me by mission 4 boss...Another Joe. Him and his stupid clones are tearing me to pieces. It took me about 10 times to beat the shark in mission 3, until i figured out that i could immediately get to him and do the zoomed in cycle kick and just kick him to death even when he tried to bite me. I cant quite figure out how to kill Another Joe though.
but the game is great and i did buy the cube just to play Viewtiful! |

hollmt, I dunno if you can get to your powerups from where you're at, but there's one, I think, that gives you a few clones of your own. If you've got that one, you might give it a try and see if it takes some of the edge off.

i have it saved and im restarting from there to look at getting something else. i thought of using the boomerang but im not sure that will do anything. its the red clone that is killing me... i can handle the clones that cirlce around you by just doing the zoom and cycle kick them to death, but the red ones kill me. i get one and the other jumps me, then another one and before you know it im dead.
but ill keep at it and start from the save point and see if there is a power up with clones. thanks. |
