RIP: Vaclav Havel
The former Czech president and outspoken dissident, who was one of the driving forces behind the fall of the Iron Curtain, passed away this morning at the age of 75.

Wow. I'm not moved to post in these threads very much, but people like Havel and Lech Walesa in Poland meant that the fall of the Wall wouldn't turn into a bloody mess like it did in Romania and largely made the transition to democracy almost seamless.
