Here we go boyzzz....Beavis & Butt-head 2011

Here we go.

This will either be hilarious and nostalgic or a total train wreck.

They did a great job of keeping to the original model; not trying to "modernize" it.

Can't be any worse than the Ren and Stimpy re-make.

Got this DVR'd.

This. It looks like the characters just came out of a time-warp, they're still totally the same. It's awesome.

Funny thing. I swear the video mocking parts are using the same cutins. I noticed that the picture seemed to go from HD to non-HD when they were mocking a video.

Yeah - they definitely were. Was definitely...I dunno...thrown off by that. The dialogue is new, but it shifts to non-HD and it's pretty jarring.

Can't decide if it's bad though...it highlights the continuity.

I like Family Guy, but it the writing, characters, and stories somehow don't seem quite the same to me as the first round.

I'm pretty sure the Jersey shore isn't filmed in HD.

Funniest part of that is that I recently read that Seth McFarlane wants to end the series and just do a movie length feature every couple of years. I think he sees that things have gone the wrong direction as well.

Agreed. The best episode of the new ones was P-TV. The Brian/Stewie stories have always been gold.

The funny thing is that MacFarland is involved with a concept to remake Cosmos and bring up to speed with Neil deGrasse Tyson as host. Apparently, Sagan was a childhood idol of Tyson and got him into astronomy. It has been a dream of his to update Cosmos.

i thought exactly the same thing...when they showed them during the videos, they seemed alot more grainy and the colors looked faded than when they were doing the new story.

I don't know about Seth's real commitment to quality. He seems more concern with the money (which is fine), considering the spin-off of the Cleveland Show and a bit of a copy-cat with American Dad.

The Cleveland Show sucks ballz, and I am as big a Family Guy homer as anyone. That show, though, is just awful.

I didn't get to see it but am going to find a way in the next couple days. Still consider King of the Hill one of the most underated shows of the last 10 years.

They did a good job. Though I don't want to see clips from Jersey Shore or I'm a Porn Loser even if they are being mocked. Ugh.

That was great. Mike Judge, you've still got it. Way to not try to "reinvent" anything, though I agree they could lose the MTV show clips.

King of the Hill actually made it something like 15 years. And it only seems like it started to tail off in the last couple seasons.

I was too young to appreciate B&B in its first run, but I caught a few minute of it last night and got some good, hearty laughs.

They actually showed two new episodes last night. First was the epic return of Cornholio (did Stewart actually get to score?), followed a couple of hours later with the boys visiting an army base on a school field trip. Pure awesomeness!

Best part of the night was B&B trying to do their buttdance to the "So Cold in the D" song, but they had to slow it way down and couldn't do it.

I was crying laughing at that and how awful the song was.

That line made me LMAO.

I don't like the longer eps, seems like too much filler

Also F MTV for having their shows not run on a normal sched. Had to program the TiVo to add extra time.

I watched the drone one from last week. Funny stuff, but ultimately a big fail because they didn't have them accidentally kill bin laden. I thought for sure they were going to show the well-organized and coordinated attack that killed bin laden as being an accidental drone killing by 2 soon-to-be high school dropouts. That would have been much funnier.

Finally caught up on this a little this weekend and loved what I saw. I liked how the "plots", if you can call them such a thing, are still silly and contrived, I was a little worried they'd try to bring for substance to this show. It's different than family guy or the simpsons, the stories and situations aren't themselves really funny at all, it's just a one or two note joke that's dragged out every week. That sounds like a bad thing, but it works, and it's what I love about the show.
