Electronic Drums

I'm looking into purchasing electronic drums and am curious if anyone has any recommendations and/or experience with them. I have a Guitar Center in town and I've demo'd a few sets there and was actually impressed with how far these have progressed over the years.

I live in a townhouse and I will not be THAT neighbor and play my acoustic set. However, I miss playing and recording very much and as much as I thought I would NEVER get an electronic set the need to play is growing too strong and playing drums on the keyboard sucks.

Get a mesh snare, that's the first thing that comes to mind. Budget? Everything from $200 to $10k+ out there, as I'm sure you're aware.

I was looking at around $1000 but I may go as high as 3k if I find something I really like.

Roland TD-4K2-S - this model is $1k and seems pretty promising.

Yeah, looks good and practically gig-worthy. Can't imagine you'd need more than that for what you're proposing.

I haven't played on one in years, but the feel just wasn't there on them for me. I like the give an acoustic set has. Up to that point I really wanted one.

I'll ask my dad at rehearsal tonight what exactly they were, but he had an old Roland set (I want to say TD-7) that was pretty amazing.

They were TD-10's. Great sound with plenty of options, and the feel wasn't bad either. I'm not the world's greatest drummer (keys and bass here) though, so keep that in mind.
