Seems like the dog is the problem.

All I know is, you don't see cats eating dog shit, but, you see dogs eating cat shit. It's obvious to me who is in charge.

My cats are never allowed outside. Only bad things happen to cats when they are outside.

There's an entire cat society in my neighborhood. They're running around, fighting for turf, having meetings, planning shit. It's certainly not as big a a problem as that many dogs running around could be, and they serve as entertainment for me and my dog on our walks at least. I'm certainly not going to feel bad for any owners if I ever run over one though.

You can state that opinion all you want, its still completely irrelevant to your dog. There could be 50 cats lined up along the sidewalk. You're responsible for making sure your dog doesn't touch them. Leash laws aren't tehre to protect your animal from himself or his own stupidity. leash laws are there to protect property and keep down feral populations. So it doesn't matter 2 tits from tuesday if there is a leash law and someone ignores it. your dog should never lay so much as a drool dropping on another animal. if he does, YOu as the owner need to take care of that problem. Better training, better controls, walking in enclosed areas like a fenced yard if necessary. If it still tries to attack other animals then its high time it doesn't get taken for such walks or put in a position to do so. I love my dog, I love my cats, pets are family members, but by god if I have an animal that shows the lisghtest danger to my family or anyone or anything else then I'll be damned if I allow it the chance to act on that. If the problem were bad enough i'd even put the animal down rather than endanger people or other animals. Like I said, I love my pets but there is a line that you don't fuck with. After what you described I'd have that dog in a severe training program or it would never be allowed out without a muzzle tightly strapped to its face. Simply unacceptable. But of course its the cat owners fault. yep. |

I don't think the cat had an owner. Just one of the many stray cats that strut around that people leave canned food out for, that is no problem at all. Because they are cats. And some odd people will spend all day looking at pics of them with captions and laughing, when it;s not actually funny or cute.
My aunt had about 20 cats at one time. Yes... crazy cat lady. One actually weighed close to 30 lbs. |

Don't get me started on mule-sized-cats....
My best friends sister had a black long haired persian cat. Thing weighed in at 56 lbs. When it moved the house creaked. it would sit behind a hedgerow and emit this really low growling mewling noise that made yer teeth ache from the subsonic vibrations it created. Freakish beast it was. |

My town has a specific cat leash law.
Specifically all cats or other feline pets (really what other feline pets are there?) shall be leashed in a body harness and under owner control at all time; a neck only collar suitable for other animals shall not be acceptable on a feline pet. Fawk a cat....if a dog eats one or twenty I feel sorry for the dog. That hair has to cause indigestion. Dogs eat cats. Humans eat cows. Same deal to me. |

Come to think of it, cats eat mice. Quote:
Shouldn't a cat that kills a mouse be considered just as dangerous as animal as a dog that kills a cat? |
