It really has been bad. I'm usually the guy rebuking people complaining about quality of play, but the late game play in this tournament has been pretty dismal.

I needed Florida to win and well...the choke job was in. Hell of a comeback by Louisville, no doubt.

Kentucky will struggle to get past Baylor and I think Baylor will be the team to end the Wildcat run....but a Louisville/Kentucky matchup will be pretty sweet as well.

Man, I swear I never thought Louisville would make it this far. Pitino is a hell of a coach. I've been a huge fan of his ever since I saw him speak as a Sr. in high school in his first year at UK. Very glad for him. This state will be nuts for the next week if UK wins tomorrow.

Anything could happen, but I just don't see it. Baylor's strength is in the front court, but I'd still think Kentucky has the advantage with Davis, Jones, and Kidd-Gilchrist. Also, UK's perimeter defense should make it more difficult for Heslip and Jackson to keep dropping bombs.

I was rooting for a UNC/NC State regional final, but a UK Louisville Final Four game would be just as fun, maybe even slightly more.

I can't stand him. Every time he makes a decent play he has to thump his chest and scream, etc. The guy can't just head back on defense. He has to act like a jackass every single time.

Louisville and probably UK in the Final Four is bad news. Hopefully UNC/KU/SU/OSU will be the champion.

Sullinger looks great - I'm amazed Ohio St is still in this. It seems inevitable that Syracuse will win, but Ohio St keeps making plays.

I think the Cuse guys do it on every play that goes there way... maybe not scream and chest thump -- but definitely yap yap and head bobbing.

Maybe this is a discussion for another thread, but it smacks of the "you haven't experienced X so you can't understand any analogs to X"

You can't tell me that some of us haven't been in intense or pressure situations at work, tho, for instance. No, no one pays to watch us sell things or generate a computer program or manage a store. However, wouldn't closing a mufti-million dollar deal be on the same level as this in terms of intensity? Or knocking out a crucial project at work? Yet, none of us jump up and start chest bumping and yelling at the opposing bidders. Or we know some of the guys at work who are asshats and some who aren't.

You never chest bump when you get all your test cases to pass?

I think it's different when there is physical exertion and adrenaline involved. Personally, I'm much more likely to bodily react to a success or failure when I have my blood really flowing.

Officiating was atrocious but I am fucking ecstatic. I've been down on this team, but they've been getting it done. Heart was racing when it looked like 'Cuse got it back to within 3.

edit: When Sullinger's got the touch, he can fucking work that backboard.

You don't have thousands of people cheering for you. Bands playing. Cheerleaders cheering and people physically actively trying to stop you from doing your job. Anybody who wants to see players not react and be all ho hum about things can go watch the NFL. I hear the league is big on letting people not celebrate in any real manner.

Not ho hum but keeping your head in the game and playing the other side of the floor, as even their own coaches are imploring them to hustle down. It doesn't always have to be "look at me, I'm the man!".

Great season by SU despite the many distractions.

You got Rick Pitino and Billy Donovan basically in tears during their post game press conferences.

The comparison isn't even close to relevant. The level of intensity at this level in sports is something most of us cannot comprehend or withstand, especially when you get to a high level.

When I land a big deal at work, it's expected of me...that is my job and that is what I'm paid to do. When it's done, I'm moving on to the next deal. And I certainly haven't been dreaming of landing the deal since I was a young boy. Most of these players will never have another moment this big.

am i imagining it or is Baylor not even trying to get Heslip some shots ? I´ve seen at least half a dozen drives where he was open and they didn´t even try to kick it out once, not to mention that they don´t even bother setting screens for him...

Davis isn't even close to 100%, I've already seen at least 2 plays where he should have easily put the ball into the stands and didn't really challenge.

ESPN.com's RSS feed is saying Marshall is out for UNC. Seems to be at odds with what CBS said (game-time decision). I dunno, I've had surgery to repair broken bones. On the one hand (ha!), I guess the bone is pretty stable (for mine after the first week they took the cast off and just protected the protruding hardware) but even 6 weeks later my surgeon gave me a rather stern lecture when I told him I'd played soccer. Then again I have no idea how bad Marshall's break was or how much pain he's in.

I imagine a game where no fans have fun watching this. UNC fans feel hopeless, Kansas fans feeling dread that they might somehow blow it and lose to a team run by Stilman White.

They just mentioned a great quote by Bill Self about how winning is more of a relief than a joy. Sounds right so far this tourney for us

Apologies to Kansas fans for James Michael McAdoo, he clearly ignored the no defense pact the rest of the players have with that steal.
