I'm moving a little slow due to being away for the holiday, sorry about that.

No problem. I am getting ready to go out of town myself, so my pace will probably slow to checking once a day or so also.

A move or two later I think this match fell apart after he castled putting his king in a more vulnerable position as I had some pressure on that side. He essentially trapped his own king in a corner where I had a knight, bishop and my queen out prowling.

Good match, Celeval...and good luck the rest of the way.

Lathum and I have finished our game. I had the early advantage, but I think Lathum was starting to turn the tide when he made a mistake, and that led directly to the checkmate.

Good game, sir.

My game with kingfc ended after about 5 move due to time. I am guessing he just lost track of time with the holidays etc. Is anyone against us restarting?

Not at all, SR - same thing happened in the game between DT and myself and he just resent an invite. We were only 3 moves in.

Kodos just ran out of time. Send me a challenge to get us restarted, Kodos.

Crap. I just remembered tonight that we still had a game going, but of course it was too late and I was out of time. You were just about to finish me off anyhow. By my calculations, you were one move away from checkmating me anyhow. Good game. Sorry I dropped the ball at the end. (I think that is twice I've done that against you now. )

I just issued another challenge, Marc. Hopefully we can get our game going soon.

Marc & I finished our Round 3 game.

I decided to push my Queens Pawn and we ended up playing a Queens Gambit Accepted. The next few moves had me trying to control the center, where Marc controlled the Queen side. Before my 11th move, I remember deciding between an aggressive or conservative plan. I opted to attack with my Knight. I was afraid he would gain too much control down my left side. With my King safely tucked away, I was able to move my Knight into the center and deep in his territory. I think the board got very cramped for Marc, and I took advantage of that to get my rook into play. I scarfed up a couple more pawns, and Marc resigned.

Thanks for the game Marc, and good luck in the next round.

A flattering description from tyketime imho - my arse was well and truly handed to me ... next time I avoid playing anything avant garde against you

So who won?

Also, this was kinda funny and chess-themed.

I think it just kinda died, but I'd be up for doing it again.
