PureSim code stolen
Steve Lucey "Crash Davis" apparently used PureSim code without Shaun's knowledge to make his own game.
Warning - Strategy Baseball - Wolverine Studios The strategy baseball website is down. |

From reading the few threads I could find, it sounds like everyone who downloaded it recognized it as a straight PureSim rip off (which turned out to actually BE PureSim). How did he think he could get away with that?

Isn't that the guy that put so many bugs in PS5 that Shaun had to rollback to a much earlier version and restart?

The big money to be made in the world of baseball text sims always brings out the worst in people.

That would be him, he was around the Wolverine site a bit late last year still too. Really sucks that a guy Shaun brought on board and praised for his help ends up fucking him like that. Puresim has been trying for Shaun, balancing it with RL, I hope this doesn't drive him away. |

Horrible Shaun.. who would have known when Crash said he could no longer work on PS it was because he was releasing his own PS. What a douche bag!

In his defense, Jabez is a good dude who enthusiastically keeps the discussions going on the PureSim forums. I got used to his fonts after a while... Not a big deal.
On topic, the fact that Steve would try and do something so stupid is baffling as he seemed like a decent guy years ago when he was involved with the game. I took a look at the manual for "his" game, and all he did was change a couple feature names and kept everything else the same. Weird stuff... |

How did anyone learn about this 'new' game anyway? I haven't seen a link to his website.

Never heard of anything like this. Just awful. I hope this doesn't cost Shaun valuable time. A decent lawyer can handle the rest.
Sometimes, this business is more cut-throat than you'd think. But this is beyond cut-throat and just plain stupid and mean. Last edited by Solecismic : 02-20-2013 at 02:52 PM. |

The funniest part is that not only is the game unoriginal since it's stolen code, but come on couldn't you at least come up with a more original title than "Strategy Baseball" in all the time you spent not coding a game.

That's extremely aggravating and a terrible thing to have to go through. Shaun deserves better than that and I hope everything gets resolved quickly for him.

Pretty baffling honestly. I mean, an awful thing to do, but that part isn't too surprising, unfortunately sometimes people do some awful things. The more surprising thing is the sheer stupidity to put the exact same game out there.
