Wii Fit - Would I lose my heterosexual card?
I've been trying to work out a lot more lately as I'm starting to get older and metabolism isn't as fast as it used to be. I don't mind jogging in the city on occasion but I do really hate going to the gym. So I prefer to workout at home although my options are limited. I'm looking for something that will get me a nice aerobic workout first thing in the morning. Don't really want to even touch the Yoga stuff.
I've always been one who needed some kind of game or competition to make me want to workout. So most of the time I play basketball or other competitive sports. But that's just not an option on a daily basis. With that said, is Wii Fit or Sports something that would be a good workout for a guy? From what I've seen, it seems more catered toward females. Does anyone use this and what kind of workout do you get from it? I'm almost certainly going to buy Project Natal when it comes out as many of those games look like they could build up a nice sweat. |

I don't think Wii Fit is a very good workout at all, personally. There are better options for Wii, like EA Sports Active. Neither game is catered towards females.

I've tried the Wii workout thing...for me, it was worthless. I jog at least 2.5 miles 4-5 times a week. You are actually competing everytime you run the same course if you keep your times and try to improve.
There is one course I run that starts off with a gentle downhill slope and then near the end, a monster hill that you have climb to make up the difference. The initial challenge was making it up the hill. Then to make it almost all the way to the end....and now I can do the entire course without stopping and I'm trying to beat my personal times. Basically, the point of this, is that you can make anything a competition. Don't sell jogging short. It's the easiest way to stay in shape. You WILL get bored with the Wii. |

WiiFit is something which sells an 'idea' rather than being a practical solution imho .... I used ours for about a week before I resold it.

So it sounds like it sucks. I don't mind jogging, although it can be a little tough in the city. In the Winter it's nearly impossible with the snow and ice everywhere. And even in the Summer it can be a pain with dodging traffic.
I guess I thought Wii Fit was more of a game than a shitty workout tool. I saw the skiing in an ad and thought the whole game was that kind of stuff. It looks more awkward than anything though when I see people using it on YouTube. I'll probably just wait till Kinect comes out for the 360 and use that as a workout tool. The games look much more fun. |

EA Sports Active is actually pretty decent, however.
Wii Fit? Yeah, unimpressive. |

Well, to answer your initial question, no you will not lose your hetero-card. There's absolutely nothing wrong with exercising. That is, unless you want to exercise within the confines of your own house just so that you can wear womens clothing. If that's the case, then yes, you will lose your card.

Actually, if you're done with it, can I have your man card? I haven't had one in a long time.

Are there any fitness games for Kinect that are decent? I found fighting the controllers with Wii Fit and EA Sports active to be pretty annoying.

I have the UFC trainer that kicks my ass whenever I use it. There is the Nike Fit+ I think that is supposed to be awesome.

As long as you're not doing that Wii dancing game. That would lose you the hetero card.

burpees for 1 minute, rest 1 minute, burpees for 1 minute
Once that becomes easy throw in a jump at the top of the burpee. It's free and quick, but it will kick your ass if you have good intensity.
