yep...
this time last year my son ate a big plate of pasta with red sauce and puked it everywhere in the middle of the night. Of course we were staying at my In Laws so we didn;t know where anything was to get the sheets changed, etc... The little man hasn't eaten red sauce on pasta since. |

It's been a while but when my son was much younger, he loved goldfish crackers. One night he puked all of them up. I still have a fear of those crackers as it's a barfy smell that you would never forget. |

This is one advantage a dog has over a kid. We once gave our dog a bit too much leftover bolognese sauce. He ate it all. Went to sleep. Puked it all up over the couch. Ate the puke and then went right back to sleep. All that was left was a reddish stain near his head.

My younger daughter puked in her bed one night when she was younger. Just wiped off her mouth on a pillow, rolled over and went right back to sleep.

And then he puked it up again, ate it, rinse, repeat...

This seems relevant, especially with HBs dog story.
My 7 year old used to stuff his face way too fast, to the point he was sick. We learned to know "the look". Especially at restaurants. Moving his food away, or hold onto his drink until food arrived helped a little, but sometimes only delayed the inevitable. Once, we were at Olive Garden, he was about 4. I saw the look, grabbed a couple napkins and tried to catch the resulting puke. He looked at us, then finished the half eaten breadstick still in his hand.

I remember several years ago my wife and I were sitting on the couch in the living room watching tv when suddenly our son stumbles out of his room towards us and vomits all over the wall and hallway floor. It must have been 5 lbs. of puke. I thought my wife was going to throw up as well, she can't be around that so I was the lucky one to clean it all up.
We had to steam clean the carpet the next day.

Kid barf at night, parents' great fright. Kid barf at day, parents' dismay.

On a related note this morning...
Good news: Kid poops in the toilet. Bad news: Kid drops one of his little matchbox cars in the toilet right after. Now my wife is mad at me 'cause I made her fish it out. I handle 100% of the litter box duty, I handle the rare occasion where one of our cats shit on the floor, I get basically all the other disgusting jobs. It was her damn turn. Mary had this happen a few months ago and it was a terrible night. Took hours to get back to sleep.

Yeah, she threw up 6 or 7 times. I basically got maybe 2 hours of sleep.

Now I have the "Red Skies at Night" song running through my head with the obvious replacement lyrics. Sigh.

For some, Olive Garden typically induces one to puke.

yep... My boy barfed some crazy oatmeal looking shit up one night after staying with my mom, just stood there in his crib silently and let the stuff come out of his mouth while he got ready to start crying.. The lady and I were caught off guard by this, but recovered nicely with a quick sheet change and some nifty baby meds. That's the only time he has ever been sick, which is pretty awesome for us. He'll get us sick, but he himself seems generally unaffected by most of whatever he ends up giving us.
