FOF2004: Coach of the Year?

Question... has anyone seen a Coach of the Year gone to ANYONE except the Coach of the team that won the SuperBowl? I haven't seen it yet in my (yet short) career.

Nope never... have played about 8 seasons total... and always the coach of the SB team.

Hmmm... deflates that stat I guess. Oh well . Hopefully Jim fixes it.

But first, to make the 'true' MVP win the award.

I saw a coach who lost the super bowl get it . Problem is, the guy who won the super bowl deserved it more (509pts for his offense and a better record than the super bowl loser).

shouldn't it be tied to a function of a team's power rating and their w-l record?

(when the bengals go 12-4 and make the playoffs the coach deserves an award)

Hmm... interesting.

Usually the 'Coach of the Year' in the NFL isn't the SB winning coach... but the guy that turns a team around.

Just had the coach of teh year from my team, we lost the Super Bowl (to the Bengals at that), thanks to allowing the Bengals to recover a damn onside kick with under a minute left (27-26). It was a first year coach for my team (1st year with my team that is) and we were a playoff team the year before but just a wild card birth and weere knocked out in the opening round. The next year we went 14-2 and just dominated (#1 in points scored and #2 defensively in points allowed).

The first two seasons it was the bowl winning coach that won the award.

in real life, i believe all voting for all awards is done pre-playoffs. all awards are based on regular season only.
