To my friends, WW , RWBL, et cetera
Sorry I haven't been around at all.
I forgot all about the WW game I signed up for and was pumped for. I apologize and hope you forgive me. I'm never on FB, but I see some dropped me. It's alright, but I don't like to air my laundry here anymore. Not going into detail and whine, but May 4th there was an incident and I had something called Acute Kidney Injury. I had Renal Failure, and my kidneys stopped working. For 4 days I vomited and couldn't keep even water down. Finally, I agreed to go to the ER. After 3 days of saline and constant observing, I was released on Thursday the 8th. Been recovering since then. I felt like crap, but I am so happy to be alive. I've learned to never take anything for granted. FOFC is just a silly lounge, but I love most of you, and felt the need to tell my friends. Embarrased? Yes; however, I could have died. I'm re-reading one of my favorite books "Taliesin" by Stephen Lawhead, and a paragraph hit me like a brick today. Bear with me: "But life is such a tenacious gift. No matter how hard Charis had tried to throw it away, it had persisted. And if life in the bullring had taught her anything, it had taught her that nothing worthwhile came without pain. Therfore, first, before anything else, she would break open those old scarred-over wounds and allow genuine healing to place at last." Thanks for reading. (And no, Buc, I haven't started drinking again

Dittos on the good wishes ... you maybe a curmudgeon from time to time but you're a lovable curmudgeon. You're among the people I miss the most from being in the old RWBL.
Take care of yourself, buddy! |

You're still morally corrupt, Schmidty.
I hope you get better quickly.

Glad you're on the mend and amazed and sad I missed this the other day. Kidneys are no joke. About 5 years ago, my dad was the one keeping our family tradition of people in the hospital over Christmas alive when he had what he thought was back pain. It turned out he had been taking too many anti-inflammatory medicines (Advil, specifically, he thinks) and ended up somehow with bilateral kidney infections. He ended up in the hospital for a little over a week and still wasn't right for almost a month.
Glad you're better! /tk
