Help finding a few movies/TV shows

For awhile now, I've been trying to remember the names of a few movies and TV shows I watched as a kid (the 80s), and no amount of Googling has turned up any answers.

Movie: The premise that these kids are returning to their high school which has been closed for a long time now. When they were in school, and accident (explosion/fire) killed one of the students, and now he is haunting the school, killing them off as he has trapped them in the school.

Movie/TV Show: All I remember is the opening scene. It's a wedding and the kids are scared because of the storm outside. The bride (mother?) tells them that it's okay, they are inside. As the wedding is going on, a bolt of lightning strikes through the window, killing the bride.

TV Show: I think this comes from a Twilight Zone/Amazing Stories/etc. type show, but can't remember which one. Parents are telling their kids a scary story about a monster that comes for you when you say its name (I think...). Near the end, the parents start laughing and saying its name and the kids start freaking out. The parents keep laughing, say it's just a story, but then two huge hands break through the windows, grab the parents and take them away.

I can't help you with what films those are unfortunately. Just noting your parents weren't big on parental controls lol (well, they didn't really exist I suppose).

The TV scary story one had me thinking Goosebumps but a quick look at an episode guide doesn't show any obvious candidates for the episode. Maybe a Tales From the Crypt?

I'll look but I'm pretty sure it predates Tale From The Crypt. I'm 99% sure I saw these movies/TV shows in the mid 80s.

"Tales from the Darkside" Seasons of Belief (TV Episode 1986) - IMDb

edit to add: Monster name "The Grither"?

I was just coming back to the thread to say "Tales from the DARKSIDE however" after finding it and you ruined it.

Yes, that's it!

Booo! It's not available on streaming on Amazon or Netflix. (Yeah! It is on Youtube.)

The years narrowed it down for me, found an imdb list called something like "dark television" or something to that affect, then Darkside (which I didn't remember until prompted) showed up in the list with the right date range and ... jackpot

Ah, that was awesome....the ending was somewhat different than I remembered it (it was nearly 30 years ago).

I was going through a list of the 1980s Twilight Zone episodes and did a search for Twilight Zone like shows and was surprised at how many there were. Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Tales from the Darkside, Amazing Stories, Freddy's Nightmares, Monsters, Ray Bradbury Theater....I guess shows like that were popular in the 80s.

The high school horror movie, I think I found that now too. I think it was "Slaughter High" (1986). The description on IMDB matches it pretty well.

The 1980s Twilight Zone is probably in my top 5 favorite shows.

What's the movie with the car that kills people. Thinking circa 87ish. I remember some chick had awesome boobs in a zip up jacket. May have been Phoebe Cates but that could be wrong. Would have been out around the same time as Gleaming the Cube.

If you have Directv there is a show on Audience (ch 239) called Black Mirror that I think is very Twilight Zone/Alfred Hitchcock like. It is British (I know sometimes the accents turn people off) and set in the near future. It's basically a technology gone bad show. Like the Twilight Zone every episode is a completely different setting and cast.

It's from '77 but this might be it...(not a lot of "car that murders people" movies)

She was epic that movie. The Wraith also gave us two of the most under appreciated movie characters of the 80s: Skank and Gutterboy
