Some notes from my career:

I just finished the 2032 season. I used standard salary cap inflation.

The cap at the start of 2033 is 200 million dollars.

There are currently 153 players in the hall of fame. They break down this way:

Don't kill me if they don't add up perfectly, I'm not going back through them again.

Other are guys who came in with the player file I started with. (one of the fictional ones)

Indy has been to the playoffs the most at 21 times, yet has never reached the Super Bowl. I'm the Broncos. . . I've been to the playoffs 20 times, went to the bowl 7 times, winning 3 of those. The worst franchis is Jacksonville, they've only won one playoff game and went 5 total times.

My starting QB (a sure fire Hall of famer in his 10th year) is scheduled to count 41 million dollars against the cap next year.

No idea, there are worthy candidates for the hall at S, T, C and ILB. . . but none have players elected. CB is also VERY low. I would say the pick positions are pretty accurate. A good mix after the first couple of rounds. One of the hall of fame DT's was a guy I picked in the 7th round. He broke out INSTANTLY and was a starter on my team for 13 years, going to a few pro bowls and being named D-player of the year once.

As for my success, a good chunk of it was pure luck. My current QB has led me to the playoffs 6 of the last 7 years. The other year, he happened to have a severe injury that crossed into the off season. I was able to ink him to a 5 year deal at about 12-15 million a year. . . when the top QB's are getting near 25 million per season. I had to pay the piper last year and give him a bigger deal.

Still, 3 championships in 30 years without any "house rule" other than to be realistic isn't bad. (I've only traded for one first round pick in the career, a trade that was offered to me, when I've been in cap hell, I've released players rather than trying to trade for picks)

Combination of things. Time off of work (I'd rather say that then unemployed)

I also set injuries to 50. . . something I should have stated in the first thread. No changes to my game plan. It stayed the same every year.

The only O-Lineman selected for the HOF was a first or second team all pro in 7 of his 16 seasons. I've seen other linemen with similar totals that aren't in. I have zero explanation for it.

Some other tidbits from this career:

WSU - your Cougars have sent two guys to the hall of fame, both TE. Stony Brook has sent two QB's to the HOF. Vandy has 5 total representatives there.

In the 2005 draft, two QB's from CU were taken in the top 10. Both made the hall of fame.

In the 2011 draft, a RDE from Wake Forest went 2nd. A LDE from Wake Forest went 5th. They each ended their careers with over 100 sacks and both have been elected to the HOF. (I would hate to have faced that pass rush in college)

The single game recieving record is held by a former Lions #1 pick. He had 13 catches for 270 yards in week 2 during the 2015 season. That was after a 7 catch 125 yard performence in week one. He never played another game. (I didn't see the injury, so I don't know what happened to him)

The career passing leader played with GB every year of his career until his last season. They released him and he went to Indy. As luck would have it, he returned to Lambeau in December that year. He threw for 416 yards and 5 TD's in a Colt blowout.

The career WR leader (he holds all of the records I gave above for WR) was a fourth round pick out of Oregan. During the prime of his career, he had five straight seasons with at least 100 catches and 1700 yards. (including 2x 2,000 yard seasons) His name was Archie Yiu. He was a Raider WR that I saw twice a year. . . I'm happy he retired.

JimG: I've never thought about self-induction. It has been tweaked, but I don't expect huge differences.

I had asked him about that since there are stats for every retired player. Maybe he could put in a button to induct anyone into the hall of fame. I think that would be cool for sentimental favorites that didn't have the mindboggling stats.

That would also be a great feature for multi-player leagues. Allow everyone to vote on 1-2 Hall Inductees each year or some system like that.

Well, with a multiplayer game you can obviously have your own Hall of Fame on your league site, and have your own team HOF being the league will be more than the game file, but it would be a good feature to have for solo careers.

Real hall average per year (1963-present) - 192/40 = 4.8 per year
Troy hall average per year (2003-233) - 143/30 = 4.7 per year.

I think the distribution needs to be worked on, but the players per year is about right.

Now if we can only be able to turn back the clock and have a like career from 1970 to 2000.

It was meant to be informational. If anyone has any questions about specific numbers, I can answer them. I haven't taken this career all that seriously (thus the speed of it). Still, I've had a lot of fun and had some really cool occurences in it.

I think, for the most part, the numbers are pretty solid. The HOF is a little off at certain positions, but that's always been an issue. Some of my large numbers would be down a bit were injuries set at the right total. I'll probably go 75 when I start a serious career. Maybe tone down inflation just a tad as well. (I'd rather have slightly higher career numbers with fewer injuries than the other way around, personal preference)

I also like looking back at the history of the league. I figured as long as I was looking it up for myself, I'd post it so others could see as well.

I've decided to keep the career going until the patch comes out. There have been a few interesting developments in the past couple of years:

1) Cleveland lost their team again. I welcomed the Riverside Browns in 2036. The sad part is that Cleveland went to the Super Bowl the year before they moved. (lost to the Giants 25-20)

2) The Kansas City Chiefs announced in 2038 that they will be moving to Montgomery beginning in 2043.

3) The Colts have now been to the playoffs 24 times and have never went to a Super Bowl.

4) The hall of fame has been letting in about 7-9 members a year for the past four years. Still only one OL. There have been 4 more CB's elected though.

5) There is a QB now taking in nearly 60 million a year on the cap. (on the Colts no less)

That will suck if OLs can't get into the Hall. Especially for people like me who like to build around the offensive line.

Odd thing is, I don't think this was an issue in FOF4. I remember having an OL at one point where four of the five guys went to the hall of fame (unless it was just the team hall).

I'd think this would be cool if we could induct personal favorites into our own team's Hall, but maybe not the Hall.
