Wireless hard drive setup for household
Anybody have any experience with this?
I purchased the Lacie Wireless space a few years back and the wireless connectivity has gone to shit and become unreliable. I was hoping that technology has improved in this field but it doesn't sound like it. I was looking at the WD My Cloud WDBCTL0030HWT 3TB Personal Cloud Storage on Amazon and the reviews are so scattered. I can't tell if this is worth trying or not. Anybody have any suggestions or any recent success with a wireless hard drive? |

I've got an external that is connected via USB to my Apple Airport Extreme. Works like a charm, easy to access. Not sure if that'll help or not.

Do you need to have a physical hard drive? Just curious as I recently switched over to google drive. It's a per month charge, but super cheap and so far is doing the trick quite nicely. Also peace of mind not having to worry about trying to get to/retrieve the HD if there is some sort of danger (flood/fire/etc).
