Prayers Needed Please
Im not one to do this. Im a pretty private guy. but this one has been really hard.
My Mom, who is 82, has been struggling health wise the last few years. She had by passes in both legs, and was recently diagnosed with Alzhiemer's. The beginnings of it. That wasnt too bad yet. But not a good thing, needless to say. She has smoked and drank for 65+ years. So, I figures she had up to 5 years left. In fact, I would have been really happy with 5. Well, This past Saturday she fell. My Dad got her up and she seemed ok, or none worse for the wear. Sunday, he couldn't get her out of bed and called for an ambulance. She had a fractured pelvis. My Mom is stubborn and tough and proud, so Im sure she downplayed it and tried to tough it out Saturday. At the hospital she was found to have an infection that spread to her blood stream. Her Kidneys, Liver and lungs were failing. The put her on meds, sedatives, and a ventilator. This was found Monday. The Doctor showed up Tuesday and was surprised she was still alive. Then she took a turn for the better. Still on the Ventilator, but her numbers were improving. I talked to my Sister, who is there, and we talked about best case. Which was Rehab, then home. All seemed to be turnoing for the better. Well, today my sister called and my Mom isnt improving anymore. They were trying to wean her from the ventilator, but thatr hasnt gone well. The doctor talked to my Dad about quality vs. Quantity of life. So, tomorrow they are taking off the ventilator. And letting her do what she will. It is not looking very promising. But as I said, she is stubborn and proud and tough. But Im not sure she will make it. I will find out more tomorrow. This has been a truly emotional roller coaster this week. I honestly thought she would pull through. Now, not so much. Im asking for prayers for her. To ease her pain and keep her strong and.or help her on her way. Thanks. I appreciate it.

Wow. I lost my mom earlier this year under the EXACT same circumstances. Your note brought me right back to the last couple of days in the hospital. I know what you are going through and my thoughts are with you.

So sorry to hear. On October 12th of this year my sister passed away at the age of 33 from multi system organ failure resulting from sepsis. Started out as a UTI.
I will be thinking of your family. |

Thanks to everyone.
My Mom passed away peacefully this morning. She had a long and fruitful life. She will be greatly missed and this will leave a hole in our family. Thanks again.
