If your party of choice was certain to lose the election...
... which opposing-party candidate would you select to win?
In my case, I think... Rand Paul? He's anti-war and against big government. Last edited by Kodos : 07-13-2015 at 03:25 PM. |

Can I write-in Mickey Mouse? Because he's the most realistic out of all the cartoon characters the GOP has.

Anything that isn't Bernie Sanders I think. Or that other northeastern/new england woman probably.
Hilary is evil but she's not bat guano crazy (I don't think).

Rand Paul: matches with about 95% of my viewpoints but ultimately is still a republican and would eventually give in to the religious/big government/war mongering nonsense.
Hilary: I had a fairly decent life during her first two terms. Last edited by panerd : 07-13-2015 at 04:30 PM. |

Jeb Bush is probably much more like his father than his brother, I'd settle on him after much consternation. There is a perverse part of me that wants to say Trump knowing Congress and the Supreme Court would keep him in check and he would be impeached within two years, but not before destroying the Republican Party as we know it.

Donald Trump. If I'm going to Hell, it might as well be an interesting ride.

Identifying who the "opposing party" is may be tricky.
If that's the Dems, probably Hillary. I don't think she's a capable leader; I don't think she can bring together a coalition of legislators to get things done; and I think she'd alienate too many Americans trying. She'd be the least damage/surest one-termer in the bunch. If that's the GOP establishment, probably Christie. I think I'd prefer a well-meaning buffoon to a two-faced snake in the grass. And I at least hope Christie is the former.

I guess either Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, or, possibly, Rand Paul. Maybe George Pataki.

My party(neither) is certain to lose. I'm prefer Rubio/Jindal or Sanders on the other side. I don't think it matters all that much who wins though.

no. nononono. I agree with you that Scott Walker can go fuck himself, but why would you inflict that damage on the nation? I say ABSW - anybody but Scott Walker. Send him back home with the 'loser' placard around his neck and then work on getting an actual viable Democrat to beat him in 2018 and THEN not only are we rid of him but his viability as a national candidate is kaput forever. |

I guess you are right. Becky Kleefisch as governor.... Ugggghhh. For the purposes of this thread I'd probably go with Rand Paul. It'd at least be interesting. |

Trump would be a victory for the late night comedy shows.
Personally I like the libertarian Rand Paul, unfortunately we'd probably get the conservative wannabe Rand Paul. So John Kasich maybe?

Ugh. Since the GOP is hellbent on destroying education in America after discovering that charters and school choice means big cash donations from charter companies, I don't have a choice more as a anybody but. So, anybody but Scott Walker since he's the worst of the bunch in terms of education.

I don't know enough about the Dems' candidates to pick one. I only know enough to NOT pick Hillary.
