So it was a fight between his girlfriend (plus his mom) and his side piece who worked as a recruiting hostess. Snippets of video that came out showed Carroo pulling his own girlfriend out of the fight, and not his side piece who made the accusation. She also said he "picked her up and slammed her" to the ground which caused her to be "knocked out for 10 seconds", which wasn't on video. And the fact that she kept on fighting sort of hurt the knocked out claim. She also didn't have any visible injuries that you would expect if you've been body slammed into concrete. Not sure if there was longer video not released publicly but the PD decided to drop the charges. And considering our entire secondary had been arrested by the same PD two weeks earlier, I don't think this was a cover-up. |

Sorry, guys, but I can't hold it in.
Iowa is 7-0 and going into their bye week. We beat NW missing our starting tackles, our #1 RB, losing our #2 RB early and our best D lineman. And our QB is battling a groin issue and was about 40%. And our best WR played about 3 plays. After this break everyone but the D lineman should be back. And here is the schedule: Maryland @ Indiana Minnesota Purdue @ Nebraska Holy smokes. We could go undefeated with this schedule. I'm worried about Indiana and Nebraska. Possibly Minnesota. But 10-2 is the low end with 12-0 a real possibility. I haven't been this excited about Iowa football since 2009. Sorry for the fanboy post. Might see a few more before this season is over.

Good stuff. I don't know how many other programs do this, but for the last couple of decades the Huskies have hosted a "Lucky Dawg" for each home game - a kid who is an outpatient from the Seattle Children's Hospital or Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. They get a sideline pass, get some time with the Husky head coach before the game and then walk out with the Husky captains to do the pre-game coin flip.

And in case anyone else needed more reasons to like Boykin, I can spin this story.
The TCU spring game attracts about 5K-7K fans maybe more (I dont want this to turn into a pissing contest so yeah your school has more). Anyway, this spring he was coming off wrist surgery and did not play. Took my family to the game (its free!) and as we were walking to our seats on the concourse, we turn and lo and behold, here comes number 2, with his jersey on and cast on his left hand. Didnt say a word, but raises up his right hand to give my 6-year old a quick high-five as we walk past each other. I am doing my best to make my boy bleed maroon and white, but this kid is making it harder. Big fan of his. |
