51-50 now....Dak Prescott with 500 yards passing and 5 TDs and he's having the second best performance by a QB today.

Still 3 minutes to go.

Oops. Blocked field goals ftw I guess.

Ross' nasty one-handed grab for 55-yard TD - ESPN Video

Here's that TD I mentioned earlier.

High scoring game but what lousy defense(s).

Still proud of how AR hanged in there even though it looked as if we were going to be blown out after the 1H.

When the game ends 51-50....it's pretty much assured that the defenses weren't spectacular.

AR was the slightly better team if you throw out likewise unspectacular FG and PAT teams.

Why did TCU go for two when the score was 29-30?

I'm wondering the same thing. And TCU had all the momentum.

Georgia/Ga Southern and South Carolina/Citadel games today ... they played each other back in week 3, and that was the second conference game for both.

I'll just go with "blame the conference schedule makers, not the teams" (which, given my initial misread, may have been your intent all along)

I know you know this, but its a Slive thing. He mandated all teams with OOC rivalries to schedule one of their tune ups for the week before the OOC rvalry in order to rest up and there by improve out of conference records.

I don't remember a more boring Missouri team than this years team. I mean we suck on offense so why not just start airing it out? Playing way to conservative.

Maybe they called Jeff Fischer on his offensive thoughts.

For perspective, MSST and ARK scored 12 passing TD's and threw for 900 yards last night. Mizzou's QB has 1200 yards and 4 TD's all season.

Crazy, crazy game.

And AR lost by a blocked field goal in the last minute that was easily within range.

Yep, it was one of those rare games where both defenses and both special teams completely melted down for great fun.

Well, you said if Utah beat UCLA they'd pretty much be Pac-12 South champs. That would only be true if UCLA then went on to beat USC, because USC held the tie-breaker edge over the Utes.

9 in a row over Yale is pretty cool.

Also would note FCS playoff participants are 3-2 vs. the Ivy league. There's no hope of the Ivies joining the playoffs (in large part due to my own institution), but we'd stand a chance this year.

I was happy to see that result. My wife as a Harvard alum, and a high school classmate of mine that's turned into an obnoxious "look at me!" Los Angeles narcissist is a Yale alum, so I'm always happy to see the Crimson take down the Bulldogs.

Put this in wrong thread, sorry about that:

FCS Playoffs announced-when I saw the Citadel beat South Carolina yesterday, I knew that was going to be Coastal's opponent. Somewhat of a surprise to see Charleston Southern to get the bye...and the winner of the Coastal/Citadel game.

No, the game I assumed USC would lose was at Oregon, which of course, they did.

OK, fair enough. And yeah, the chances of Utah losing to Colorado are low, but doing so would have opened the door back up for USC.

That whole bracket is so lopsided it's not funny. So they push NDSU to #3 behind Illinois St; who actually finished tied with NDSU, but lose out as the MVFC Champs because of tiebreakers.

They give the MVFC 5 spots, screw UND, who beat D1 Wyoming, by giving it to a team that won 6 games in Western Illinois. WIU becomes the first team with 6 wins to ever make the playoffs. The commission said it was because of how hard the MVFC was. Then they put them all in the same side of the bracket.

NDSU has a bye, then will face either SDSU or Montana. We lost to Montana on the road to open the season and crushed SDSU, who was easily the #3 team in the MVFC. We'll be home for the quarter final game, then may have to travel to Illinois St in the Semi's if they win. That would be a rematch of the very tough Championship game in Frisco last year.

Overall the strength of the bracket is weighted to one side. McNeese St has to wonder why going undefeated only got them the #4 seed? Citadel could make things interesting since they knocked off South Carolina this last weekend. Dayton is in for a wakeup call against Western.

24 teams makes things more interesting, but this focus on regional matchups is brutal and will never elevate the tournament to the level it could be.
