I'm the Raiders. Aren't they all set to 50 on All-Pro?

Played the Chargers, lost 40-20.
Upped the holding and moved the run blocking to 45. Still ran for 186 yards. Threw four interceptions and Rivers destroyed my defense. Seems I have good defensive and offensive line, and little else. Derek Carr is a turd. As is Amari Cooper.

By default, yes. I'm 4-0 to start my season, 3 of those game I've won by a TD or less. Played the Bills last night and had the first game of the season where I just couldn't run the ball - the Bills linebackers were eating Hyde up as soon as he got it. I've been having some success with the option, but the read man was sticking to Kaepernick, and Hyde would get eaten up even if I handed it off. I fell behind early after back-to-back 3-and-outs, but managed to get it going through the air, scoring the last 14 points of the game once again and finally getting some yardage on the ground in the 4th Q to preserve the victory. The Bills were running with Jimmy Garoppolo at QB, but gave me a heavy dose of Ivory and McCoy, finishing with 135 yards on the ground and 160 through the air. I had 74 rushing yards and 148 through the air. 27-20 win.

570 yards of offense (387 pass/183 rush), 33 first downs, 2 turnovers... lost to the Steelers in Pittsburgh, 49-24.
I couldn't stop Big Ben and I had a ton of trouble once I got into the Red Zone. Both turnovers and two missed field goals, as well as having to settle for two FG's.

Beat Arizona 17-10 and they were without Palmer. Might bump injuries up to 65 as there was only one injury (still not seeing many).
I can still stop the run, their RB was only a 77, so I'll play one more game with my latest changes in settings and bump them if needed. I'm 4-0 with the Rams, but last two games have been hard. I still think Mason and Gurley rush for too many yards.. so I might tweak that too. Haven't seen any punt or kick off returns for TD's yet. |

Yeah, at 60 for the last 3 games I've lost one WR for 5 weeks, with a few others being of the quarter/game variety. Seems unfair considering all the injuries AI teams put up with (and the amount you accrue in the preseason if you sim the games).

Anyone notice a huge amount of "Complete ACL Tear" injuries? When I played the Steelers, they had eleven injured players, eight with ACL tears.

I'll keep an eye out for it, I did have two players with ACL tears from the preseason sims.

Someone said at 65 there were too many.. guess I'll give it a few more games... but I agree.. for the CPU teams they get more for sure. Only thing left would be more broken tackles and a competent CPU rushing attack. Might lower human tackling to 40 (and more and more my sliders are looking like Armor and Swords over at OS). The thing is.. the Rams D line is really all highly rated players.. so I'm not sure if that's why I stop the run so well? Last edited by MizzouRah : 09-16-2015 at 11:05 AM. |

I played that Rams D line last night.. 3 games straight now where I've struggled to get anything on the run. The sliders have made those easy 4-5 yard runs off 'spread' type formations a lot harder. I'm having a lot more success when using a TE or FB as lead blocker.
It was my first blow out win though. I'm getting better at passing, and I think I need to bump the accuracy down, because Kaepernick is starting to feel like Brady for me now.

Some updates to pro sliders in red
How I play Madden This part does have some impact as I play with some rules and only control players on offense. •On both offense and defense I go with suggested play and only pick a play from the 3 presented. (Strategy only) This stops me from using go to plays and gets me out of my comfort zone and making choices from plays that I sometimes don't like at all. •On defense I do not control any players or call audibles. The only interaction I have here is shifting the D-Line/LBers/secondary one way of the other. I will also have the Dline crash a certain way or edge rush and the secondary show blitz or bail. Apart from that I just watch. •Offensively I do not call audibles, which the exception of changing the side the play will go to. General game settings (CFM) Updated 09/12/15 tested extensively with patch and new rosters. I had my first blow out win last night - also vs Chase Daniels. I was surprised that Chase, rated 74 ovr, had 12 TDs to 6 INTS for the season on 54% passing... then he finished my game 18-36 with 2tds 1int so it seemed about right.

Then we play the Packers. Hold Aaron Rodgers to under 200 yards passing and 0 TD passes in a 38-10 win. This game is weird.

held our first full cloud bases franchise draft with my son and my best friend and we made it through a full draft, full sim and full college draft. Have tried this multiple times over the years and this has been the only time this has gone off without a hitch.
Now all EA has to do is make the companion web site useful and not some 1990s level nonsense. |

Rivers, 529 yards and 4 TD's.
The game gets comical at times: My defender and Stevie Johnson go up for a ball, my guy tips it, somehow Johnson ends up with the ball, then another defender comes in, hits Johnson, causing a fumble, then Johnson somehow comes up with the fumble and runs another 30 yards for a TD.

Latest tweaks to my Pro sliders as I know a couple are using them, a few more punts now and scoring down a bit overall

yup huge scope creep on this so people can have a glow in the dark ball or throwback uniforms in twelve versions. Let's get the running game to work for the AI. that has been an issue for 25 fucking years with the game. It is still a fun arcade type game for playing with my son or friends when over but screw devoting my valuable free time to it. |

I'm trying to enjoy it. I just wish there were options to turn off all that other stuff. Like I wish I could go into options and edit the Start Menu and remove some of the play options. |

Yeah. Who has time to deal with all the extra crap. If you're gonna spend time adding extras, do it in dynasty mode. Couldn't give a crap about the ultimate team (or whatever it is called) crap. Now if you could have historical draft classes in dynasty mode, I'd be all over that.

It is fun, but definitely more arcade than sim. Like every Madden, there's one or two 'WTF?' bugs that should have gotten caught during the testing phase.

Lost my first game 38-17 to the Packers.. was in it until I threw 4 INTs. I had like 11 penalties though, which also killed me.
Looks like CPU RB at 60 and Human tackling at 40 helps as they had 117 rushing yards on me. We need a rebound against the Browns next week! |

I decided to rent this game since I'm a Madden sucker every year. Fired up a franchise and it looks different this year.
Did they completely ditch in season scouting, stories involving draft picks, and media involvement in general this season? I haven't played anything yet, but I don't see any of that stuff anywhere.

They've gone back to random draft classes, so the pre-fab draft prospects and storylines are out. In-season scouting is still there though, I think starting week 2.

I though I still saw a few story lines for the top prospects? All news has moved to a "tab" further down the line which is a great little UI improvement. The news being in the front always bogged down the Home screen in Franchise.

The only somewhat modern football games I have played are NCAA 14 and NFL 2k5. I don't know if I have touched a Madden since the Sega Genesis days.
I recently bought a PS4 for The Show and bought Madden as a way of killing time before MLB is released. I had very low expectations for it. So far this game has just blown me away. Now I play on coach mode with coach mode sliders from OS and only for a season and a couple of games, so maybe I will eventually run into issues that will eventually kill the game for me, but for now this is perhaps the best football game I have ever played. There is a good balance between the run and pass games. I have had success both running and passing the ball. It seems a bit too risky to run a playaction pass ( my qb gets sacked at much too high of a rate) but other than that all types of plays seem to have a reasonable chance of success. The computer will run a balanced game plan and will play to the strengths of their team. Although there is some momentum baked into the game, overall the ebb and flow of the game seems very organic . The one in game issue that has been problematic is the man to man blitz plays. I don't know if it is a personnel issue or a bug, but any time I am in that formation and the computer passes against me, even if I am just sending one extra guy, I get killed. Other than that, I have had success with many other kinds of defenses and I have to be very cognizant of what formation the computer is in to matchup successfully. I didn't have to be nearly as aware in NCAA 14 as any defense seem to be successful at any time if you had the right recruited players. To me, the presentation is almost amazing. They do an excellent job with stat overlays and have begun to adequately address team and individual's performances in previous games through additional stat overlays or commentary. It can still be improved since some of the lines are repetitive, but the seeds of making it more dynamic and encompassing in following editions are definitely there. The menus outside the game are a bit wonky. It is odd considering how well information was organized in NCAA 14. In that game, I felt really immersed in the league just through a couple of well placed pictures and headlines on the main page that told me what was going on with the top teams in the league. In madden, I have to scroll a couple of times to get to that and then once I am there I see the headlines and pictures basically suck and have no energy. Again , it is odd because NCAA 14, a game from EA , did that so well. So to sum it up, to me, this game is amazing so far. I am sorry other people seem to be disappointed in it. As long as progression holds up, I can see myself having fun in franchise mode for a long time. |
