Does anyone here play Madden?

For those who play Madden,

Does it bother you that the "fast sim" uses a different engine than the normal game?

It's always bothered me that what I see on the field doesn't have much to do with what happens when I sim games, sort of like the ratings mean something different if I'm not actually playing.

On the other hand, fast-sim games don't take very long...

I'd be interested in any thoughts.

I play Madden for fun. Realism is a smaller part of that than it is for other games. So that does not bother me.

Haven't regularly played Madden since Madden 2003 or so. On the other hand, I play a ton of NCAA 2014.

If I remember correctly, NCAA does the same thing. (doesn't it??)

Yeah, super sim is horrific...I have some hope that they addressed it with the inclusion of their "Big Moments" or whatever for 17....time will tell....

The moment you approach the line of scrimmage with the ball all of your linemen become little pushovers and every pass rusher turns into prime michael strahans.

Last madden i played was 09. Blocking was atrocious and wasn't realistic at all. Wish 2K had the license again.

I can't play Madden either, because.. Well, the issues with the game are maddening.

Simple things like clock management. If I am playing a QB only franchise and I have just driven my team into FG range to win a game late only to see the supersim kick in and not attempt the FG, then I am done.

Things like supersim failing to produce reasonable statistics.. All the other various nitpicky things about the game that are obvious issues that are never addressed..

If the people making the game cared about something other than making money (Ultimate Team) then the game would be better. Sadly nothing EA touches has any semblance of good gameplay anymore. Their games start out wowing you, then eventually you come across all these little issues, unbalanced gameplay, more DLC, and less content.
