Carson Wentz

Ok now we know he is the real deal, but did you expect him to be this good already?? Still has yet to throw an INT in 3 career starts, and yesterday in the dismantling of the Steelers he had a QB rating of 125.9 which is very impressive. The smarts, poise, and ability at the QB position is unlike anything I've seen in years. More so than Andrew Luck when he first came out. Tom Brady started his career with 162 consecutive attempts without an INT. Wentz is at an impressive 82. Don't want to jinx it, but Philly fan's must be ecstatic right now...

I am ecstatic. He has so much poise for a veteran much less a rookie. When he fumbles a snap or there is a bad snap or other negatives, he has amazingly quick thinking to still make it a positive play.

He's looked promising, but it's three games. Unlike EF27, I can't get my hopes up too much after three games (though yesterday vs PIT was a nice watch).

Andy Benoit of the MMQB was on this early. Apparently, even though Wentz was FCS, he ran a very complex pro-style offense. So a good early start is not surprising.

Gotta be fun to be an Eagles' fan right now.

It's just three games, so let's see how he looks at the end of the season. Not surprised he did well in first two games given the opponents, but was expecting him to struggle mightily against Pitt. Instead he shined, I think its bodes well for his future in the NFL, but I want to see a full season under his belt before I really believe in him. Cleveland decision making looking pretty bad right now though.

While the quick thinking and his intellect is what surprises me the most, his physical attributes are even better than I thought they would be. He has a very good arm and surprising mobility for his size. His intangibles are better than expected as well. I agree that it is early, but love the tools I'm seeing.

I think the overall body of work has been great, and the stories about him being a complete dork that lives in the film room bode well (as long as he learns to be smart & doesn't RG3 himself), but that Pitt secondary is brutal to the point I don't think I can take them seriously as a Super Bowl contender.

The shocking part of that result was the Philly D holding the Steelers O to 3 points.

This. I was amazed at Philly's D!

The steelers secondary is still horrible, and it didn't help that 3 out of the starting 4 linebackers got hurt early on.

Wentz looked great again, but still really hasn't been tested, and I honestly dont think you can count the Steelers D as a real test.

Listening to @BaldyNFL on #Eagles QB Carson Wentz: “He’s Peyton Manning pre-snap, he’s Aaron Rodgers post-snap.”

What could go wrong with these kinds of expectations?

I was just glad he didn't take any hits like he did last week against the Bears.

How much credit can go to Doug Pederson? I mean he wasn't a household name as a QB back in the day, but he has worked under some impressive mentors. Seems like the players love playing for him right now, and he is pushing the right buttons.

Yes and no. Obviously far too early to say the kid is going to be a hall of famer, but given the knock on him was that nobody knew if he'd be able to go from a non major program and translate that success to the NFL, I think it's pretty fair to say that concern seems pretty damn unfounded.

I think the sky is the limit for him, as long as he learns to slide. He has absolutely every quality you'd want in an NFL QB, he just needs to continue to develop. But a very impressive start.

He's a modern day Montana. But if he ever throws a damned interception I'll gut him myself.

Let's wait until he cures cancer before we put him on par with Baugh, Graham, and Unitas.

Carson vs Dak should be a fun rivalry over the course of the next decade.

There is something about Dak's feet and footwork that troubles me.
