FOF8: Features in 7 you'd wish were in 8

What are some of the things in 7 you'd wish was in 8.

1. Global playing time setting - This would help with all of my tired players and help with shuffling my players in preseason

2. The depth chart - I loved being able to setup my backups for all positions, including my snapper and holder. Maybe something like a top backup for each position group.

3, Choosing where I want to blitz and my usage of nickel, dime, and Goal line- This is a biggy for me, I really like to customize my Defence.

Maybe this is a wishlist for the next patch. What are some others you guys can think of.

I know some people have an issue with this, but this is something I actually like a lot. It makes my coaches important, it makes endurance even more important and it makes how I set up different packages important. Instead of a guy getting exhausted for a critical series, I can rest him by giving him a package of plays off. I prefer this way to the old way A LOT.

Cool but this thread is about what was in 7 you'd wish would be in 8. Is there anything in 7 you wish was included in 8?

You can customize what set of plays and formations and personnel you want to play anytime in every situation. So I don't know why you are missing that..

You can to a certain extent with the new system but you can't choose when you want to use the nickel, dime, Goal line or who you want to blitz.

I know there's a way to tell the game to blitz the best pass rusher always but that's not the same as telling your WLB to blitz every pass play or to never blitz your star corner.

I kinda wish with the new system, you could just cycle through plays and use the red arrows to dictate who you want to blitz.

I'm loving FOF8, I just wished some things could return.

Nope, you just select the type of coverage and how many are going to blitz but the Offense dictates how the defence lines up.

104 formation - forces the D into Dime
005 formation - Forces the D into Dime

113 Formation - Forces the D into Nickel

122 - it keeps them in normal D

230 - Forces them into Goaline D

023 - Forces them into Nickel

You get the idea.

My best cover corner blitzes an average of 20+ times a game. Is there a way to stop that. I would like for him to be in pass coverage especially in obvious passing situations.

Simulating a week not advancing to the next week.

Exiting and returning to the simulation window taking you to the current week instead of remaining on the week where you left it.

The issue is that this then forces you to take away game planning from full rex, and to go through the game planning process to rex everything every game to adjust the bits you want.

It would be great if the screen about blitzes, QB starting time, top CB covering top WR, positional bias, etc was outside the rex game planning before. Some of this was in FOF7 (QB time in particular)

TBH, now I've had a chance to play around a bit more (4 hours pre patch, 4 hours post patch) I'm also finding I like FOF7 depth charts and playing time system more than the FOF8 process, which takes an age to balance out playing time that took seconds before.

Also preferred the old system of having every menu item visible at one click. I will eventually get used to where things are I'm sure, but even when I do it will take longer to get to items that were a single and immediate click away before.

Everything just takes much longer in FOF8 from what I can see, and being able to have multiple windows open is pointless if you want to hide results, as most of them give spoilers about the simmed week's events. As a result it gets tedious and time consuming to navigate through the menus to get to the info you want which are now under multiple sub menus.

An answer would be to minimise open windows rather than close them, then they would again be one click away, but I imagine that this would be a major programming task...

I love the new gameplanning, I just wish defense was alittle more customizable like it was in 7.
