I'm sure Cal fans want Chip Kelly, but it sounds like Justin Wilcox is the front-runner. Pretty good DC, and he should be able to assemble a good staff (rumors of Tosh coming back which will make Cal fans' heads explode). Rumors that he'd target Washington's Jimmy Lake for DC, but I don't see that as likely to work out, and besides - you'd expect him to go after his buddy Peter Sirmon instead.

The Admin got tired of him whoring himself out to every job interview. He needed to go. Wilcox will be a good hire for them.

Him getting fired wasn't odd. It taking a month to do so was more the unusual part, but Jon Wilner points out that Cal bureaucracy means things rarely move quickly at that school.

Jake Spavital back to WVU as OC and quarterback coach. The timing couldn't be better with Will Grier taking over at Quarterback.

Oregon Ducks co-offensive coordinator David Reaves arrested for DUI

How short is the leash on Taggart right now? Does he make it to signing day if there's another incident of any kind?

I doubt it's that tight for him, but between this and the rhabdomyolysis issue with the three players earlier in the month it's not a good start for him.
