I don't think I voted in the previous poll, but back then I probably would have gone for the humans will solve their problems option. I think we were on the right track under Obama-now I seriously had to consider one of the years options before going with the colonize other planets option. The current President seems to care only about making America great again (in his view of that) when it was just fine before and now seems destined to start a third world war. Maybe we can send various factions off to other planets where they can live happily ever after without worrying about conflicting values, ethics, religions, morals, etc. "Make the Universe great again?"

Even if we have total nuclear war, not everyone will die.

I think eventually we will get to colonization, especially once it is monetized somehow.

Couple of hundred feels about right - population explosion with less habitable, arable land due to climate change, countries fighting each other over dwindling resources and a proliferation of weapons that can wipe millions out in one go and the improvement of the delivery of said weapons.

How could I be the only one to say we'd solve our own problems? You're all a bunch of quitters.

I'm not saying we won't see a massive population decrease but we're like cockroaches. We're not going anywhere.

Technically, the only real difference between your option and the last is the others are more optimistic about extra-planetary colonization.

This is how I feel, pretty much. I think we're going to experience a big population loss event in our lifetimes, unfortunately.
