Agreed! I'm glad he didn't try to finish the 2nd show before going to the hospital. But I'm so disheartened that the way to "announce" these things is via a selfie on the hospital bed. I just don't get it...

Two things come to mind:

1) There's been a lot of internet hoaxes recently with celebrity deaths and major health crisis-he can show this is not one of them with the selfie.

2) To show his fans and family that he was being treated-wasn't some fake health crisis to get out of whatever show he was doing, and he wasn't on life support or unconscious.

As opposed to, what, a press release?

For many fans, I'd say the photos & such are reassuring. Not seeing a real problem with them honestly (assuming they're in the aftermath of legit incidents, etc).

I see post-incident selfies from regular folks on social media now & again, can't say that I have any problem with those either.

Both good points you two bring up. Perhaps I too quickly lumped this in with the other selfies that totally turn me off. Thanks for setting me straight.
