China / Taiwan - What would you do?
I was listening to a podcast (60 Minutes I think) that was talking mostly about the chip shortage that also briefly discussed the fact that China has not been able to build a domestic chip industry like they wanted and have eyes on Taiwan. One of its final lines stated that 30 years ago the US had to help Kuwait due to oil, and now it might be Taiwan due to chips.
So I was curious what you guys all thought about this. If China invaded Taiwan 1) What would you want the US to do? 2) What do you think the US would actually do? |

I would simply convince China to leave Taiwan alone without expending any American military assets, causing any loss of life, or conceding anything of value to China.
I believe that this position qualifies me to be a legislator for whichever party is currently out of power. |

I very much want to visit Taiwan because I watched a lot of CPBL baseball last year at the start of the pandemic when it was the only thing going. And I'm certain it's going to be part of China in the next 20 years so I want to visit it before it's going to go all Hong Kong.
