Anyone have any reccomendations on a pop up stopper. download.com's review have been hijacked and you cant trust anything. I used to have panicware's free pop up stopper and if i remember corretcly it seemed to work good. Anybody have one in mind thats free or cheap and good?

Just another vote, I had been using IE forever and coming to this site sucked because a pop up would come every 2 seconds, same with every other site. Since I downloaded Mozilla, no pop-ups, and I love it.

Mozilla is the easiest browsier to use and like was previously said - no pop-ups. Tabbed browsing is another plus.

Either google toolbar, or if you are comfortable switching browsers, go to Mozilla Firebird, and get no more popups.

Google toolbar no question. You just install it, enable the popup blocker option, and forget popups even exist.

So, am I safe to say that I'm not the only fan of the google toolbar???
I'll admit it actually, I'm a google fanboy.

Me too. They just provide some excellent services. A friend of mine who works for them is always raving about what a great company it is to work for, too. Real team effort all the way. |

I have a couple of questions, both of which are probably something simple that I should know the answer to. First, I have google toolbar downloaded, but every time I open up IE, I have to go to view -> toolbars and select google. How can I get the google toolbar to come on every time I open up IE. Second, in the last few days I have noticed several iexplore.exe open in my task manager, often when I haven't opened internet explorer. Today there were 10 different iexplorers that appeared in task manager. I haven't noticed anything detrimental to my computer yet, but does anyone have any idea on what might be causing this? And what can be done about it?

LOL
While I use Mozilla Firebird mostly (IE for sites that don't work well in Firebird), I'd have to say it is only a bit better than IE. Not THAT much better, but the tabs and mouse gestures (which you can download) are pretty nice... and it's smaller than Opera.

Ah, there's a good reason to try it. I'm on a laptop so space is always a premium. Is it's tabbed feature easier to use than opera's?? Does it work on more ie necessary sites? What other selling points does it offer an opera user. I'd sincerely like the answers to these questions. I can't argue against choosing a free browser can I???

You might want to run spybot or adaware for all the iexplorer things you have open. To answer your first question, make sure your toolbar is properly installed. |

Upon further review, due to strength of schedule, it is actually only 7999.43 times better than IE. Sorry.

As has been said, if you wish to stay with IE, Google Toolbar is nifty. Also, if you'd like to use some of the nifty features from Mozilla or Opera, Avant Browser is a nifty add-on for IE. Otherwise, either Mozilla Firebird or Opera are awesome browsers.
