We get hooked back up the 14th, if that is too long I guess I can take a simmed week. If not, I will play on the 14th.

Any updates? It feels like we're kinda dead in the water. I have the feeling we're not going to be able to find a sweet spot with sliders that are challenging for everyone but not too hard for the older guys.

EF, have you tried any more games with the new sliders?

Julio - are you up and on the internet yet?

Do we need to accept that with 2 new babies, people are in a different stage of life now, and maybe there isn't time for an online league like this any more?

I'm still working on the internet thing. There is a company called Skywave I am trying to get signed up with, because Frontier offers BLAZING FAST 1 Mbps downloads here and they also suck about as bad as Comcast when it comes to customer service so they can go fuck themselves before I sign up with them. Hoping to find something out soon, then after that I should be able to play with no issues. Problem in a small town like this is that it seems like everyone moves as slow as a snail when it comes to taking business.

I called a paving company to get an estimate on paving the road leading to my driveway. Took them a week to finally come out and take a look at things.

I called 2 other paving companies and never got a call back from either of them despite several attempts to get that done.

I called a construction company to get an estimate on getting my crawlspace encapsulated. It took them about 4 or 5 calls and over a week to finally come out and take a look, then they wouldn't provide me a written estimate, losing them thousands in potential business. I'll be going with a more reputable company instead, they will be out on the 28th to give me an estimate on that.

I guess I am just not used to how small towns operate, because literally everyone here seems almost averse to accepting new business.

Also, another weird as fuck thing about this town is that ALL the restaurants close on Tuesdays. WTF kind of secret small town society is going on here?

Anyway, I will update when I know something, I just haven't yet because I am waiting on Skywave to find out whether I have line of sight to one of their towers. I think I do, but they have to come out and check first. If I get that, I can get minimum 25 Mbps down and probably a good deal more than that on a more expensive package.

My fingers are crossed, my nerves are frayed, and I am enjoying life as a homeowner, hahaha...

Home ownership is an adventure for sure! Thanks for the update, Julio. Should I put you on Autopilot for the time being?

If necessary, sure. I'm hoping to be connected by the end of next week, we'll see if these podunk bastards get off their asses and take my money or not.

Hey guys. I'm throwing in the towel. We had a really fun fifteen-season run, but when the original Ladder dynasty died, we probably should have just hung 'em up. I tried to make this work, but I don't think it's ever going to be like the glory days of the Ladder again. We have sliders issues, guys with new families and new responsibilities and less free time, websites that only work intermittently. If somebody wants, I'd be happy to hand them the keys to the league so it can carry on without me. Maybe when NCAA 2023 finally comes out, we can do this again.

It's been fun, boyz. GO HOOSIERS!

I have many fond memories of Justin Gray too. Great running back. Thanks for being a part of this league, CU.

I'm only mad I never got to use my stud scrambling QB after developing him for a couple seasons in anticipation of using his skill set to its fullest. Still had a pretty nice run making it to 6 of the final 7 BCS championship games. Had a great time playing in the league.. i'll echo a couple sentiments from you kodos - One, Go Hoosiers. Two, when the next NCAA game finally happens, I'll be back in. By then things ought to be pretty good where I am at on the internet front.

It's been fun playing against you too, Julio. Even though you kinda owned me.

Heh. I was only a year off on my estimate for the return of EA Sports College Football.
