Maybe it's just not being covered, but from the outside looking in it sort of seems like Minnesota is being hung out to dry by the rest of the country. Shouldn't people be out in the 10's to 100's of thousands across the country at this point?

Yes, there was a really big protest in Chicago yesterday. Media can't really cover that stuff much though so I don't think many people know what is going on. Was kind of the same when ICE was causing chaos in Chicago and most of the insane stories were just ignored. Like I still can't believe them rapelling in blackhawk helicopters to harass a building for some slumlord wasn't a massive story.

The dollar is dropping while the trade deficit is rising. It hit a 34 year high. When the dollar is weak it usually decreases the deficit, as US goods are cheaper for buyers while import prices rise. What us happening now is other countries are actively dodging US imports while we pay more for imports both from actual cost and tariffs. So much winning.

Honestly, the idea to split off DHS funding from the main continuation bill is not a terrible one if your plan is to then do everything you can to keep the DHS funding bill from passing, which is certainly within the realm of possibility if you can whip your caucus and get a few MAGAGOP defectors who feel ICE polls poorly for them. It's pretty much exactly what McConnell would have done if put in the same position.
