The city of Minneapolis really needs to win the next Nobel Peace Prize. The Trump meltdown would be incredible.

Crazy that the 4 chan home of Q-Anon was started by a guy who was friends with Epstein.

With an estimated 54% of the vote in the Dem is leading by 13 points in a Trump +17 TX state Senate district. They are on track for 100k votes, so it isn't such a small total that anything can happen.

The Dem won easily.

The GOP has two problems, swing voters hate them and GOP voters aren't motivated to vote for anyone if Trump isn't on the ballot. I bet a lot of TX GOPers are sweating the new maps they made for 2026.

The Republican spent $2.4 million on this race. The Democrat barely spent $400k. Of course this could be the same case like the recent Georgia state seat where most likely that money was just lining the pockets of "consultants" and hardly anything was spent to actually sway votes. Still, to spend that kind of money in a +17 GOP district and still lose is crazy.

I heard somewhere that when they redrew the districts they were extremely confident they would maintain Latino support and some of the new districts are heavily Latino. Since then their support with Latinos has cratered.

I wonder why it cratered?

I just saw the video of where Trump clearly shit himself while signing an executive order, cut the event short, and his people rushed the media out of the room. I can't believe this is the timeline we're living in.

Even more interesting, the voter party break down was 51% Repiblican, 35% Democrat. The Democrat won with 57% of the vote.

Lol. He now says that he wasn't involved in that-that's a local race even though he made a last second endorsement. Very sane indeed.

Allred is the establishment Dem who will get the party support because he raises a lot of money. Doesn't matter that he loses, the money raising is what is important here (and being loyal to Israel).

That doesn't really explain this, though because he's endorsed Crockett. Schumer would much rather have Talarico run.

I doubt it.

Senate hopeful Talarico says he'll call for ban on sale of offensive military weapons to Israel - San Antonio Current

Crockett is kind of the perfect person for losers like Allred to get behind. She will trash talk Republicans and can position herself as anti-Trump but will never vote against the party's donors. A performative "progressive". She is also incredibly fucking stupid and easy to control.

A little confusing, but it sounds like the GOP is going to nuke the filibuster to pass the SAVE Act.

Even with the current SCOTUS I don't know how that would stand, as is. It makes voting far harder for women compared to men. ACB would be guaranteed to vote against it, meaning they'd need one of Kavanaugh, Roberts, and Gorsuch to strike it down.

It seems like they would be burning a ton of political capital and setting themselves up to pay a much bigger price down the road by pushing it through.

If they do, the Senate ceases to function from here on out any differently from the House. It actually moves us one step closer to removal of the EC since it gives outsized voting power based on geography.

The filibuster rules were made in the late 70's. It's a dumb rule that gives too much power to the minority. Senate managed for 200 years before that without a stink.

If anything, the Senate should be abolished because it is DEI for small states.

I recall a civil war in there somewhere.

The filibuster has existed in the Senate since 1806. The current rules have been in place in the late 70's that made the filibuster more symbolic and easier to use, but there has always been a way for the minority to block particularly divisive laws from being passed.

This Don Lemon story is so emblematic about how for the last decade MAGA feels that if Trump thinks something should be legal or illegal it automatically is regardless of what the actual law or constitution says.

They just want to see people punished. They're miserable people that get off when they think someone is suffering, bonus points if it's a POC. It's their kink.

It looks like Trump made this promise to get votes for the funding bill and Thune has no actual interest in nuking the filibuster so they're looking into just making the dems hold the floor. Thune isn't really want to do this either as it locks up legislation but he has to show he did something to appease Trump.

So, turns out QANON was right about there being an international ring of elites who trafficked in pedophilia. Sure, they were wrong about the part where it was based out of a pizza parlour in New Jersey, but on the big picture, spot on.

Actually, I've come to the opposite conclusion. I haven't seen a real smoking gun about any pedophilia outside of Epstein. All of these elites panicking about being linked to Epstein seem to have been (correctly) concerned about being linked to him on friendly terms well after his horrible behavior was known. That's potentially damaging in and of itself. I feel like for the vast majority of these people, the friendly communications or advice they give him, their willingness to still be friendly or do business with him, their knowledge (sometimes intimate) about what he was doing, is what they didn't want to come out.

I mean, sure, a few of them probably partook in the action on an isolated basis, but I don't see that as being the main reason these people wanted the "Epstein stuff" to go away.

That's what I see as well. It is the embarrassment of being friendly with a known sex offender more than being an actual participant in his crimes. For certain there are some really damning stuff in there of those that did, like the Andrew formally known as prince.

So you guys don't think Trump groped underage girls with Epstein, even when Trump admitted on tape that he did so at the Miss Teen World pageant he ran?

Yes, sure, let's wait until some (probably fictional) day when someone trustworthy sifts through all the files, but there's a lot of lightly to heavily smoldering guns in there.

I think a few people were involved in some of this, sure. Maybe/probably Trump is one of them. But as a whole, I think there are a bunch of people with sway and money enough to try to make this go away simply because they don't want their affiliation with him known. Like Goldman Sachs' GC, the Harvard law professor, the Paul Weiss managing partner, etc.

I don't think we're going to find any evidence Trump committing r*pe in the Epstein files. If there were then it would've been political/moral malpractice by Joe Biden not to expose it or bring charges in during his administration.
