At minimum, it would be manslaughter in any other area. He just happens to live somewhere they values gun rights over human life.

The FCC blocking the James Talarico interview on Colbert is just so stupid and scary. All they did was elevate him and make it look like they're scared of him winning the primary. But it's scary that CBS has so quickly become a propaganda arm of the Trump administration. That equal time thing hasn't been used in a long time and Jasmine Crockett has been on Colbert so I don't know who they're saying should get equal time. Paxton and Cornyn wouldn't go on there. This plus Anderson Cooper leaves 60 minutes while Peter Attia has been retained. CBS is pretty much gone.

My father-in-law said he won't vote against the Republican trying to primary Lindsay Graham. The candidate is a virulent white Christian Nationalist.

Good, right? I mean I guess. He won't vote for the guy because the guy wouldn't let my father-in-laws plant group hold their annual sale at his store any more.

Not because the guy has said that Mexican Americans (like myself and my daughter) aren't actual Americans and that we don't belong here... but because of plants. It's because Mexican-Americans are imported somehow, nevermind that my family has been in America for generations.

Otherwise my father-in-law seems to think he's a great candidate.

It has more to do with his stance on Israel than anything to do with equal time or Trump. Crockett was allowed on because she'll keep voting for the bombs.

No, but every now and again you have to go on a football text sim message board and remind people you're anti-semitic.

He is the anti-Israel candidate in the primary. I just don't think they want to give him any momentum. Weiss and Ellison care way more about Israel than Trump.

Yeah that's probably it. Not the fact the guy that bought CBS is one of the largest private donors to the IDF at a tune of tens of millions of dollars. I'm sure he wants the guy who doesn't support his biggest cause (killing Arabs) to go on his network and get a boost in the Senate race.

The Occam's Razor explanation is that the GOP doesn't want to lose TX in a Paxton vs. Talarico race, and they'd much rather race against the black woman and take their chances.

Why does Larry Ellison give a shit if Crockett or Paxton is the Senator? They both support the policies he cares most about. Colbert had Crockett on last year. He has Democrats on all the time and it's never an issue.

51 Dems in the Senate changes things quite a bit.

Video has over 6 million views and has raised 2.5 million for Talarico in 24 hours.

Stupid me. I just assumed that all of the sycophants wanting to rename things - particularly, airports - for Trump were to boost his ego in a public way to make it clear to him who was licking his boots. But in FL, there's a bill to rename Palm Beach's airport after Trump. And coincidentally, Trump's organization has filed trademarks which it could use to extract licensing fees for the use of his name. And just so we're clear, an amendment to this bill to prohibit the state from paying such fees was blocked in the FL legislature.

Trump administration burned themasewlves again by telling CBS to forbid Stephen colbert from airing James Telerico's appearance. He's a Texas Democrat who is big on getting MAGA polotics out of religion while being religious himself. NOthing he said was earth shattering or even offensive to FCC. He went on the view tho and made waves. Anyway colbert was not allowed to air the clip nor was he even allowed to MENTION all this in his monologue. But he did anyway and pointed to his website where the interview is and it got more views than it would have otherwise.

Fascist censors lose.

I was reading an article about this it doesn't seem like they are charging him with anything concerning sex trafficking at the moment rather information that came out in the Epstein files that he traded confidential govt information with him when he was a trade envoy with parts of Asia over financial investments. Maybe that will come now that he is in custody. I just hope they have a "suicide watch" on him.

In today's edition of Florida Man/Woman Today... the sanctity of marriage.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...-b2921370.html

Byron Donalds's wife posted a pic of her and Donalds kissing in the FSU student union in the fall of 1999 and commented about going on their first date on Valentines Day 2000.

Evidently, public records show that Donalds married his first wife in June 1999 and was divorced in 2002.

I know we have reached and let's be honest have been in place for a while where this sort of thing does not matter at all when it comes to people in power in our society but still.

I would be OUTRAGED... if they were Democrats.

On Reddit - I can't remember the sub, maybe r/Facepalm - someone last week was posting pics/stories about what used to derail political careers. Among them, Gary Hart's photo with Donna Rice and Stuart Smalley's pic of pretending to grab boobs of a sleeping service member. We've come a long way!

These people should have their children taken away. Of course don't blame God, blame yourselves for being fucking morons.

Instead, since late January, the schoolboy has been confined to a hospital bed with measles encephalitis, a complication that causes swelling and inflammation in the brain. “He's pretty much as if he was paralyzed,” his devastated father, 41, told The Independent in a phone interview from his son’s hospital bedside.

Ethan’s parents decided not to immunize him against measles as they did with his three brothers. Three out of four of them contracted measles. Still, despite Ethan’s ordeal, his mom stands by their decision. “We’re not blaming God for this,” said 35-year-old Kristina. “Yes, it hurts, of course, it hurts. But God has chosen Ethan for a reason. God is doing something, and we're gonna glorify his name regardless.

Trump says he's moving 10 bil from the treasury to his board of peace.

Not sure how that's legal, but the GOP doesn't care.

I've been rewatching old Law & Order episodes that are airing on Roku's L&O channel - it's Seasons 1 through 10 on continuous repeat, in order. It's amazing how many of the topics they discuss are relevant today, to the point where some of the court room statements and post-case comments as the episodes end seem ridiculously naive given how far backwards we are moving. There is an early season episode (I think it's Season 2) on just this issue (putting a kid's life in God's hands and refusing medical treatment).

I spent a good bit of time yesterday consuming British media and the country as a whole seemed to be represented by that picture of Andrew in the back of the police car. It is like everyone came to a realization of something all at the same time. However, it was clear that everyone came to a different realization. For Epstein became real with the arrest. For others, there was shock that he was actually arrested and seen with what looks like cuffs on his wrist. There did some like there was a certain pride that they had proved some sort of moral superiority of the U.S. whatever that is worth.

Apparently we might have to go to war to make sure Iran doesn't develop nuclear weapons.

I'm so old I remember when Trump permanently destroyed Iran's nuclear program.

dola: Trump's gonna go crazy because SCOTUS kills his tariffs.

Ironically, the one thing that might help the GOP in November is getting rid of tariffs.

Yeah, but he has to refund 173 billion and that's quite a jolt to businesses.

I asked a friend of mine that knows this shit far better than me and he said the law is far clearer on anything else they try to justify tariffs and will likely get shot down quicker through injunctions and there's no way SCOTUS takes this up again.

Prices also won't come down so they'll be a profit boost until tariffs are replaced.
