It is just sad she is with that meat ball. She is a fierce competitor and deserves her wins, not to mention an complete smoke-show.

From here on it's time to call him Jutta Leerdam's fiancé.
He's never going to achieve anything in sports that trumps what she has achieved by now.

Boo. We fall just short in MD Curling but still an amazing accomplishment to get the silver. The girl from Sweden was absolute money and they deserved it.

Beating Italy to get to the gold medal game was incredible. That's the first mixed doubles medal in curling for the US.

Yeah, it was a really good run by USA mixed doubles curling that came up just short. They were both on a heater with their throws until today. I don't know if either the US mens or women are expected to medal in team play so it was good to get a medal here.

I didn't realize how personally messy the biathlon was. After the cheated on my girlfriend thing yesterday, today the winner in a women's event was previously found guilty of stealing a teammate's credit card.

At first I thought you were referring to the mens winner crossing the finish line with a metric tonne of boogers smeared all over his face.

I just sort of stumbled on the Men's cross country sprint. Pretty good stuff.

oops more cryptic than I intended. An American Medal in cross country skiing? inconceivable.

My SIL was an alternate in biathlon for the U.S. team in Torino a couple of decades ago. As I understand it, you're an alternate who goes if someone who made it can't go. But once they're on-site, that's it. Team sports (e.g. bobsled) might bring an extra or two to ensure the correct numbers if someone gets injured, though.

I think they're being nice. I was a competitive skier on the cross-country side ages ago, and knew and trained with the alpine folks. Yes, catching the gate with her arm/shoulder is what did it, but a big part of what goes into lining up for the gate properly has to do with leg strength and the ability to make hundreds of tiny adjustments (on uneven ground) before contacting the gate. Having a torn ACL definitely made that a LOT harder accomplish.

And so that just happened-I said before he skated if he just stays standing he wins. Not sure I've even seen such a collapse in skating.

The difference between being the greatest and having the potential to be the greatest. You can't call yourself Quad God and crumble like that.

What a great first pass on that goal for the USA women.

I love 3 on 3 hockey.

Stereotypical Canadian "nice" goes out the window when it comes to winter sports.

Not sure what in particular you are referring to but we've never been nice when it comes to hockey.

That said, the curler guy is just a douche and I hope his team dumps him or they at least stop having any kind of success.

Yeah, I'm rooting against the Canadian men in curling. They just came across as douches when video evidence came out about them touching the stone twice. It's on video, just admit it and move on.

But I'm glad the Canadian women rebounded and made the semis. Hopefully it's a US-Canada final. The semis should be really good with 4 great teams to watch tomorrow morning.

The Swiss curling women wearing those kind of not-even-trying-to-be-cool glasses make them kind of geeky hot.

I've learned enough about curling to tell that the Swiss are completely dominating us this morning. It's not just that they are winning. They just have complete control.

Yeah, the Swiss are very good. I wonder if they wanted to play us. The Swiss are who we beat yesterday to get in and they had nothing at stake because they had already clinched. We are probably an easier matchup for them than Canada.

So weird to see two ice hockey teams play each other in almost identical uniforms.

There is nothing better in this fallen world than elimination hockey games.
