well, I'm glad I am not the only one who has been hoping that Jim was just waiting for the board to come back up to announce the next game....

You're not. I've been holding off buying the latest FOF waiting for an annoucement. (Yeah, I know it's been out awhile, but I didn't have the itch to play until a few weeks ago...)

As someone who is not involved in the beta process, I will say that I am pretty sure that testing has been going on for a decent amount of time and that the new game is getting close to release.
I'm still flipflopping between a new football and basketball currently but I do think a new game will be out within the month almost for sure... |

So why the hell is it such a secret what the game will be? I can understand not wanting to announce specific features or a release date, but what does he have to gain by not saying what type of game it will be?

too much hype happens, and then people bitch too much when the game does not live up to the extreme hype. It was kind of annoying with the bitching going on when he last announced a game before hand.

So if he said "I'm working on a new version of Front Office Football.", exactly what hype would there be to live up to? It seems to me, not saying anything could only hurt him. For example if he announced he was working on a basketball game, than people might hold off on buying TBP until they see what Jim's game will offer. By not saying anything, people are more likely to buy a competing product just because it was released earlier. |

Front Office Guessing Game!
(ok, so maybe the joke's stale and tired as you suggested on the other board, but I've never been funny so I don't have to worry about such things like beating a dead horse) SI

Personally, I would be shocked if Jim did not make MP leagues importable. If he makes a new FOF, I just don't see any way he would not make it so that leagues could carry over. First of all, in the past he has made efforts to allow importing careers. Second, the leagues have built to strong of a base to just force them to all start over.

I would assume that all members of your MP league would have to be using the same version of the game though. So, I would expect some FOF MP leagues to stay with the 2004 version, because they may like it better or just not see the need to force all league members to upgrade --->$$$. Since, I am not in a hurry and I believe that a new game should be just around the corner I think I am going to wait for the anouncement. TCY2 or FOF2005 we hopefully will know this month. |
