Of no relation?

Colombia's main rebel group asked followers to mount an assassination attempt against President Bush (search) during his visit to Colombia last week, Defense Minister Jorge Uribe said. There was no evidence Saturday that rebels even tried to organize such an attack.

Uribe told reporters late Friday that informants said the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (search), known as the FARC, told followers to attack Bush during his four-hour visit in the seaside city of Cartagena last Monday, where he met with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe.

The defense minister, who is no relation to the president, said security forces were on full alert during the visit.........

Ok, here's the question. Why would we think that there would be a relationship between Jorge Uribe and President Bush?

Am I the only one who at least wonders if this ties into the fight Bush's bodyguards had last weekend?

It looks like the Colombian President and the Colombian Defense Minister have the same last name, Uribe.

Are either of these guys related to Jose Uribe? He was a decent SS before it was mandatory that SS hit 25 homers a year.

I am floored when we do get declassified information years later at how closely some potential disaster scenerios were avioded. I wonder if we won't find out 10 years from now that the bodyguard scuffle didn't somehow stop the assasination attempt we are reading about today.

Poor old Johnny Ray
Sounded sad upon the radio
Moved a million hearts in mono
Our mothers cried
Sang along, who'd blame them
Now you're grown, so grown, now I must say more than ever
Go toora loora toora loo rye aye
And we can sing just like our fathers

[Chorus:]
Come on Eileen, oh I swear (what he means)
At this moment, you mean everything
With you in that dress my thoughts I confess
Verge on dirty
Ah come on Eileen

These people round here wear beaten down eyes
Sunk in smoke dried faces
They're so resigned to what their fate is
But not us (no never), no not us (no never)
We are far too young and clever
Remember
Go toora loora toora loo rye aye
Eileen I'll hum this tune forever

Come on Eileen oh I swear (what he means)
Ah come on, let's take off everything
That pretty red dress Eileen (tell him yes)
Ah come on let's, Ah come on Eileen
That pretty red dress, Eileen (tell him yes)
Ah come on let's, ah come on Eileen
Please...

Come on Eileen too-loo rye-aye
Come on Eileen too-loo rye-aye
Toora toora-too-loora

Now you have grown, now you have shown, oh Eileen
Come on Eileen, these things they are real and I know
how you feel
Now I must say more than ever
things round here have changed
Too-ra loo-ra too-ra loo-rye-aye

I had trouble finding it too. I had to read the article about 3 times before I saw there were 2 Uribe's.
