FOF2004 question: snappers and holders
I haven't simmed many games yet, so I thought I'd throw this out there. Is it safe to assume, with the new snapping and holding skills, that there will now be bad snaps on punts and bad holds on FGs? I can't rememeber ever seeing them in previous versions.

I would hope so. They'd be pretty meaningless if there wasn't.

During several games, I have seen bad snaps on the field goal or extra point attempt. It's really annoying too since my long snapper is rated 90, but even good ones will occasionally make a bad snap.
Also, I've seen several plays where the holder will "save" a bad snap. Least that is what I inferred. The PBP will say that snap was really off center (or something to that effect), but the kicker will still make the field goal.

In one of my games my team had a bad snap so it's possible, now another question, where in the game can we setup who will be the snaper etc? we haven't a special teams formation screen, we can only set the kicker, punter and returners.

You can also set the long snapper, kick holder and gunners positions in the offensive line depth chart.
Are you sure you're playing FOF2004 ?

can someone please post a game log excerpt that describes a bad snap/hold on a kick? I don't think I've seen one yet in my career.

I've had a bad hold that screwed up my chance to get into overtime. It hurt, but I like that it is in there. I had not been paying attention to who was holding prior to that point..
Hmmm, on further review, though I believe I saw it, it does not say "bad hold" in the log. Does the log reprint exactly what was on the screen? |

Well, I've seen bad snaps several times over the past few seasons, but I can't seem to find them in the logs for some odd reason. I have to get back to work, but I will look again later.

I see a bad snap about once every 4 or 5 games (pretty reasonable, considering I have a good but not great snapper).

It would be sweet to see a bad snap turn into a TD or 2pt conv.

What are gunners?
What are gunners, and what attributes should they have?

Gunners are the guys who run down either side line to tackle the punt returner. The most important rating is special teams, IMO.
