If you had to pick a Super Bowl winner...

...who would it be?

I've only listed teams with 10+ wins.

The Eagles, just because I don't want New England or Pittsburgh to win even though the AFC is a clearly better conference.

Steelers...no brainer to me. Roethlisberger will be undefeated until next year.

All of these teams have weaknesses. I think N.E. is probably the most complete, but they showed that they can be beaten as well. I tend to believe that rookies will play like rookies in the playoffs so that would throw out Pittsburgh for me, although Ben has surprised me all year, so who knows. The Eagles will still win the NFC, in my opinion, but will be overmatched in the SB. My pick: San Diego. I'm no Charger fan, but I think they're playing really well right now and have the ability to upset an Indy, N.E., or Pitt.

** Sleeper Pick ** I’m going for which teams are hot to close the season if I had to pick a Super Bowl winner. There are not many teams that are hotter than the Buffalo Bills - so IF they make it into the post season I think they will make some noise and is my pick to win the Super
Bowl - but they have to make it there first

Bengals would've beaten Buffalo with Palmer at QB. Kitna looked horrendous.

Or you would just have two Uncles?

Each one of those teams has clearly shown a weakness, and with injuries anything is possible. I would have to say that the odds on Favorite is the AFC, and that Conference Championship will most likely be the SuperBowl. The NFC doesn't have, IMHO, one strong contender, especially now with the Eagles losing T.O. The only thing that worries me is the Big Ben on Pitt, and I think the Pats will get upset somewhere and they maybe on the downward slide of their Apex now, where as Pitt seems to be going up. Chargers don't have the D, and neither do the Colts (except Freeney), but both have explosive offenses. As usual it will come down to the Offensive Team vs. Defensive Team, which the Ravens a few years back seemed to have an edge with the strong D.

Before TO went down, I'd have picked the Eagles just because they were so much more likely than the other top teams (all AFC) to make it to the Super Bowl. Now, I'd say a toss-up between Pitt and NE. Roethlisberger is a rookie, but he's not what makes the team go and should be able to cut down mistakes, rely on the run game, defense and homefield. But with Dillon healthy and their playoff XP, it's hard to keep the Pats from being right up there with Pitt. SD and Indy are good teams, but chances are they'd have to win bakc to back road games at Pitt and NE to get to the Super Bowl, and I don't see them winning both. With TO's injury and the hideously bad NFC, Atlanta is looking pretty good, but this is a team that has looked atrocious in some losses, and I'm not about to make any team that is only +18 on the year my favorite, even if they are 11-3. Buffalo and especially Carolina are both as hot right now as anyone in their conference, but are both on the playoff bubble.

Atlanta is a Paper Champion and will be the first Division champ out of the playoffs I believe. What 11-3 gets shut out? They have not been impressive at all.

I voted Pats. Colts haven't convinced me they can beat the Pats or Steelers, I can't vote for a rookie QB or an NFC team, and I love the Chargers but they'd likely have to beat Pittsburgh and New England on the road to make it, I don't see it happening.

I will say, I'll be rooting for the Chargers I think, tomlinson is one of my favorite players.

Oh, and if the Panthers make the playoffs, they can win a game or two, but, I don't want to talk about the Panthers much after last Saturday

Before T.O went down, I would have picked the Eagles. Now, I believe Pittsburgh is the most likely team to win it all with Indianapolis a close second. N.E. looked bad to me last night, and I think before last night I would have put them first. Now, I think they are 3rd most likely to win it all.

I would have voted Pats for sure if they were playing at home, but now you gotta go with Pittsburgh. They basically lost the Super Bowl last night. If I were not giggling with such giddy glee at that thought, I would be disgusted that they lost the Super Bowl to a terrible team.

If Ty Law comes back anywhere near 100% then I'd pick the Pats. If he's not, then it's pretty obvious their secondary is going to get demolished in the playoffs. If I hear Earthwind Moreland's name called by the announcers I'll know they're doomed.

There's no way you can say they lost the Super Bowl last night. I really believe in a rematch the Pats can beat the Steelers. NE is battle tested and I don't doubt for a minute that they can go into steel town and win provided they get their secondary in order.

The Chargers.

Just because they're probably the most unlikely pick, and yet, they have a very balanced and sound football team right now.

Yep. They did it 3 years ago with a lesser quality team. The loss to the Phins doesn't bother me too much. You gotta lose sometimes. I think it can help to lose right before the playoffs - it gets you focused that you have to remain sharp and give it your all. IOW, it's a real overconfidence killer.

I think the Colts. IF Edgerrin James hadnt fumbled twice on the goaline, the Patriots would have lost the season opener and the talk would be different. I think they are looking pretty damn good, and their defense is better when it has points on the board- it allows those edge rushers (Freeny and Mathis) to just fire away.

It's hard to see anyone stopping the Eagles in the NFC, but they'll lose to whoever gets there from the AFC. Steelers, Pats & Chargers are the more complete teams, I can't see Indy getting there...
